About
Discover your inner cowboy (or cowgirl) on this great day out in the New Forest, England's answer to the Wild West (okay there's lots of trees and not many cacti, but bear with us). You'll start off with coffee, bacon rolls and a briefing from your ranch hand. Then head up to the field to meet and catch your horse, before learning how to groom and tack him up Western style. Then you'll have a Western riding lesson in the arena - it's easier to learn and feels more secure than riding English-style, so it's great even for beginners. And those cowboys had to spend all day in the saddle, so they made damn sure it was comfortable! Take a break for a barbecue lunch and then head off on the Western Trail into the forest. You'll finish up back at the ranch, to untack, rub down and feed your horse, and turn him out to pasture before you settle down to a well-earned coffee. Rawhide!

A Superb Day - Yeeha!!
Hospitality was terrific, staff knowledgeable and friendly. A very professional setup, with well behaved and suitable horses. My husband and I fully enjoyed our western experience. We are both competent riders and felt that the tuition was both appropriate and informative, with lots of opportunity to ask questions. The ride through the New Forest was stunning, with deer and wild ponies.

Fantastic Experience
It was a great day, the team at the stables really looked after us, they were very friendly and lots of fun. The lessons were well thought out and kept us busy, a real cowboy day. The food was brilliant (mmm tasty steak), I really didn't expect as much as was on offer. What else can I say? We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely would recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant Day!!
The whole day is very well organised and is suitable for anyone, from the most inexperienced beginner to someone with a riding background. The staff were extremely friendly and good fun. Catching, saddling up the horses and lesson before the trek gave the day a good variety and made everyone feel more confident. Even experienced riders learned how different American riding is from English style. The two hour trek in the afternoon is very good and isn't too demanding - the horses know what they are doing. I would recommend this experience to anyone who likes horses and wants to learn a little about riding.

Amazing Experience
The day I spent at Burley Villa was a truly amazing experience. The staff were brilliant and worked hard to ensure that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. My horse, Concho, was a real gent and really looked after me. All in all, a great day for everyone, whether you are an experienced rider or have never ridden before. I would certainly recommend the experience.

Brilliant Introduction To Western Riding
Clean stables, happy friendly horses, very professional, thorough instruction. Cowboy breakfast of egg and bacon roll and coffee, an excellent lunch of steak, beans, corn, jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and what else but Wagon Wheels and muffins for tea! After breakfast we collected our horses from the field and led them to the corral for a good brush down and saddling, at each stage we were shown exactly what to do. We rode to the indoor arena to practice manouvres. Before lunch we fed and watered the horses and in the afternoon mounted up for a ride in the New Forest. Regular riding hats are covered with stetson covers, you need boots and long sleeves for brushing through the undergrowth. After removing saddles, grooming and returning horses to the field we cleaned tack and had tea. The whole experience was very well organised, safe and thoroughly enjoyable. A ranch holiday is now definitely on the cards!

Brilliant Day
From arrival to departure the staff were great, we could not have been better looked after. They made sure we had the right horse to suit our ability to ride. We had to groom the horses and get them saddled up before we had an hour's riding lesson, then after a very tasty lunch of steak we had 2 hours riding through the New Forest which was very interesting. Thank you for a memorable day.

Wonderful Experience
What a thrilling experience. Grooming our horses first thing in the morning was hard, dusty work but you got to know your horse. Saddling up Western style was an experience as well as the lesson in the arena. Even experienced riders learnt a few pointers about riding Western style, like reversing your horse and making him turn in tight circles. Breakfast was scrumptious but the BBQ at lunch, after we had fed and watered our horses, was even better. The people at the stables were all very friendly and helpful and made the day all the more special. The horses were very well-mannered and well-tempered. Riding in the New Forest was great, especially seeing the buzzards, deer and other wildlife.
