  • About

Get behind the wheel of a pro 390cc kart, which reaches speeds of up to 70 mph (and believe us - that will feel twice as fast in a kart). Start off with a video and safety briefing, followed by qualifying laps to get used to the karts and the 1,200 metre outdoor international circuit. Then let your competitive streak loose in three quick-fire race heats. The leading point's scorers go on to take part in the grand final, followed by a trophy presentation for the top three drivers.

    • An evening racing go-karts on an outdoor circuit
    • Speeds of up to 70mph in a Pro 390cc kart
    • Practice laps then quick-fire heats
    • Leading points scorers race for victory in the final event
  • Key Info

    Availability

One event is held every month, generally on a Wednesday evening but alternatively (and very occasionally) on a different weekday evening.

    Participant Guidelines

Minimum age is 16. Drivers don't need a driving licence or any driving experience. Minimum height is 5', maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight 18 stone.

    Weather

Racing might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) which would make driving at high speed dangerous. Contact will be made if the experience is cancelled. Unused laps will be credited for another visit.

    Duration

The event lasts for four to five hours. Safety rules dictate that the full initial briefing must be attended and participation is not possible for latecomers.

    Numbers On Day

There'll be up to 60 drivers taking part, 15 in each race.

    Spectators

Spectators are welcome. The venue has state-of-the-art clubhouse facilities serving hot and cold food and offering excellent viewing areas.

    Dress Code

Wear trainers or similar flat shoes. A clean helmet, balaclava, competition-style race suit, gloves and rib protectors will be provided.

    Other Info

Don't drink any alcohol for a minimum of 12 hours before the experience, otherwise participation will not be permitted. After the event has finished, feel free to relax in the on-site bar.

Didn't Know What To Expect... Will Never Forget!

In my 60 odd years I have never experienced anything like it..thanks sons for the scare of my life!! But wouldn't have missed it for the world! My only regret is I had never tried it out when i was a lot younger. To be introduced to karting in one of the fastest karts, at night and on an outdoor 1200 m circuit was not the best starting point but made for an eventful experience and one I would recommend at any age group. There were clearly some younger, more capable enthusiasts taking part but this didnt diminish the thrill I got out of the event. I'd like to think my presence added an extra chicane to the course! I didn't finish last but was way off the pace especially being my first time it was a steep but enjoyable learning curve. As the laps went by my times came down steadily but never threatened....if only.

This is a day not to forget, a really exhilarating experience. It was a brilliant day from start to finish, a very well oiled and organised event, made to feel very welcome from the moment of turning up. Having watched my son on an earlier experience was exciting, but having now tried it myself......'WOW' is how I would sum it up. I only wished I could have handled the car better but you get carried away with the excitement of driving so fast and the plus of the adrenalin rush, can't beat it. An absolutely fabulous experience, will definitely do it again.

    Great Night Of Racing

This experience which took place early on a cold but dry March evening was fantastic, especially if you have never done anything more that go karting on those tame machines whilst on holiday. It started after being kitted out in race suit, balaclava, helmet and gloves with a safety briefing and guide to the best route around the 1200 metre track. Then it was onto the track with a ten minute free practice to find your way round the track and a feel of the speed of these machines (70mph). Then onto the racing where you get three races to pit yourself against your fellow petrol heads. These races then decide which final you go into (everybody has a final). Then it is prize giving and a chance to chill out in the bar. The next day you can log onto the website and see the details of all your lap times and race positions. A fab evening if you like the chance to test your skill and competitive edge.

    Fantastic

As most things in life you are always apprehensive about what you have entered into, but this experience was something else, absolutely brilliant. From the moment you get to go on the track for the practise round you can feel the adrenalin running through your body. Would definitely recommend Buckmore Park to friends and family, it puts to shame a lot of other Go-Karting venues. All in all a brilliant evening's entertainment. Well done Buckmore!

Over the years I have been on several Red Letter Days experiences. But this one was one I will be talking about for many years to come. You can be assured that I'll be telling all my family and friends about this one. Buckmore Karting will be visited again, that I am sure of. It was great being in place that had so much racing history attached. Let's face it several faces from Formula 1 started their careers at Buckmore. I'll mention no names as we know them well!!

I've been on two indoor kart circuits before, but this is the only way to do it, a well designed, fast outdoor track where Lewis and Jensen started their trade. The fact it was a beautiful day in Kent whilst back in London where I live it was pouring down wasn't a bad thing either!

    Simply, Wow!

Red Letter Days were brilliant, but need a bit more practice on the karts!

    Absolutely Fan'driving'tastic!!

Well organised and time raced by as well as the karts that really are as fast as they say! Plenty of time to get used to the kart, fun instruction and a real opportunity to push your driving skills to the limit. Track larger than the average karting experience - they just won't be the same after this!

    Thanks for the memories
