Guess in what area of racing a lot of top Formula 1 drivers (including Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button) first got into? Now it is you who will be behind the wheel of a Pro 390cc kart, which reaches speeds of up to 70 mph. Start off with a video and safety briefing, followed by five minutes of practice laps each to get used to the karts and the 1,200m outdoor international circuit. Then pit your combined driving skills against the other duos in an hour long endurance race. You will each race for 30 minutes - teamwork is essential as it is the combined position of both drivers' races that decides each team's final overall position. Every driver will receive printed lap times and there is a trophy presentation for the top three teams.

The big day arrived and we prayed for the best weather possible. The briefing was clear and informative. The people at Buckmore Park were great and we felt safe in their hands. Great experience to understand how racing drivers feel when travelling at such high speeds, cutting corners by taking their lives into their hands. It was certainly the best way to get rid of pressures of everyday working life and enjoy the time on the track. The fact that it was an outdoor event made it more fun for the family. It's something I would recommend to others without a doubt.

    Awesome Night Of Speed!
