  • About

Llamas are perfect companions for an English country walk - affectionate, intelligent and happy to carry all your stuff! There's also something relaxing about their gentle presence. You'll receive a warm and informative welcome in the reception room, before taking the reins of your llama and heading out on a two-hour trek. Your fluffy new friend will happily carry your rucksack and camera as you walk through beautiful English countryside, a mixture of woodland and open fairway. Each trek is guided, usually with one llama companion per trekker (although when busy a llama may be shared by two). There are some great photo opportunities and afterwards you can meet the rest of the herd of 50-odd llamas. You are also welcome to picnic at the farm.

    • A pleasant country walk accompanied by a llama
    • Intelligent, affectionate and calming, the llamas make it a memorable and relaxing trek
    • Walk in a small group for about two hours, accompanied by a guide
    • Why not stay at the farm afterwards, bring a picnic!
  • Key Info

    Availability

We offer weekend dates from April onwards and recommend booking at least four weeks in advance (even earlier for peak summer dates).

    Participant Guidelines

Minimum age is 12. You must be reasonably fit and able to walk several miles (usually around four and a half).

    Weather

You can call the venue before you leave if the weather looks bad or if there has been recent bad weather, but trekking would only normally be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions.

    Duration

Your trek will last for around two hours. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of your booked time to ensure a prompt start. The trek cannot be held up and any latecomers will forfeit their place.

    Numbers On Day

Your trek consists of a small group of up to six people, your llamas and your guide.

    Spectators

This experience is not suitable for spectators. Only paying guests may attend.

    Dress Code

Dress for a walk in the country, in long trousers, sturdy waterproof clothes and footwear, plus a hat on a cold day. Some spare wellies, rain capes and gaiters are kept at the farm for use by customers just in case.

    Other Info

Please note you won't ride the llamas. They are trusting creatures and must be treated with respect at all times. Lunch is not included.

This was a great experience that I thought I was going to miss, I was travelling from Lincolnshire and traffic had held us up.I telephoned the Llama farm to say we would be late, fully expecting to miss the trek. However when I arrived they were waiting. Bliss! I was given a beautiful Llama, a wonderful gentle animal who I walked through lovely countryside. Not only was it amazing, forming a brief but somehow trusting relationship with the Llama but I was able to ask any questions of our lady leader/owner at any time. I would recommend this trek for any animal lover. There was nothing at all that was disapointing. Can't wait to do it again.

Warm welcome at the centre, an introduction to the farm and then off to learn how to handle your llama. Beautiful animals and lots of fun.

The day was super. There were 3 of us in my party and 10 of us trekking. We were given an interesting talk about llamas to start with and then some information about walking with llamas. After that we felt much more confident that we would cope with these unique animals. Our llamas were really well behaved and had been trained well. It was a fabulous day weather wise and I would recommend the whole experience to anyone. I would give it to myself as a gift!!
