  • About

Llamas are perfect companions for an English country walk - affectionate, intelligent and happy to carry all your stuff! There's also something relaxing about their gentle presence. You'll receive a warm and informative welcome in the reception room, before taking the reins of your llama and heading out on a two-hour trek. Your fluffy new friend will happily carry your rucksack and camera as you walk through beautiful English countryside, a mixture of woodland and open fairway. Each trek is guided, usually with one llama companion per trekker, although when busy there may be one llama per couple. There are some great photo opportunities and afterwards you can meet the rest of the herd of 50-odd llamas. You are also welcome to picnic at the farm.

    • A pleasant country walk accompanied by your own llama companion
    • Intelligent, affectionate and very calming, the llamas will make this a memorable and relaxing trek
    • Walk in a small group for about two hours, accompanied by a guide…
    • ...and with the llama carrying all your stuff!

This was a fantastic day. We had a warm welcome and a very informative introduction to llamas when we arrived. The llamas were well suited to their handlers, and I had built up quite a rapport with 'Humbug' by the end of the trek. We enjoyed the experience hugely and would certainly recommend it to anyone!

This was a wonderful experience. Even though there was snow on the ground and very cold, but to me and my wife it is the best weather to walk in. The Llamas were fantastic. With the instructions given by Mary they were very easy to trek with. The country side was excellent and we walked for about 2 hours, 4 miles approx. We will definately do this again. Thank you Red Letter Days for a great day out.

What a way to spend a chilly sunday morning - Willy Wonka - my llama for the day, was gentle, magestic and very well behaved. We had a lovely walk through the woodlands together and it was so calm and peaceful - I recomend this as a perfect stress buster - it should be made available on the national heath!

There were only four in our party so Mary (the owner) was able to give us some real personal detail about the llamas which was fascinating . Our llamas were called Spinach and Willy Wonka and were a delight to trek with. Good weather, excellent attention from the owners and I would recommend this day to anyone.

My daughter and I arrived far too early but Mary and David (and the 2 dogs) welcomed us. We were invited to walk through the paddocks to watch Mary bottle feed a young llama that was underweight but thriving. Then we went to help with the rounding up of the llamas into the pens prior to the 6 llamas which were going on the trek being harnessed. The talk before the trek was informative and the training to get the best from the llama by the correct use of the reins was invaluable. The trek itself extremely enjoyable. We went along at an appropriate pace, controlling our llamas when necessary as we had been trained eg quad bikes nearby startled the llamas but correct use of the rein helped regain control and calm the animals. The walk was just about the right length and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We enjoyed a fantastic day strolling through the countryside. As part of a small group we had plenty of time to get to know our llamas and to learn how to control them. We were fortunate to have great weather and an overall great day.

It was a fantastic day, Mary and her husband were very welcoming and their love for their farm is evident. They told us all about the farm, the animals, the history of the breeds. Then the walk through the countryside was beautiful. This is something you could do any weather, any time of year and was a welcome change from the town life I'm used to. I'd recommend it to anyone and have already booked up a second trip for later in the year.

Good introduction to the llamas, their indigenous habitat and tradition of herding. Then a lovely walk leading them through the woods and fields. Contrary to everyone's fears, llamas are very gentle and tolerant.

Great value for money on a very different type of experience. The hosts gave lots of information about the llamas, and the venue and trek were lovely - not to mention the llamas themselves. Thanks Mary, Skipper and Fudge, and the kiss from George!
