The day lived up to your promise and so much more. All aspects of the day were 5 star. From the moment we arrived to the time we left with our sparkling wine we felt we had been part of something special. Thank you Denbies and thank you Red Letter Days for pulling together such a magical day that my wife and I will remember always.

Denbies- Vineyard in Surrey in a beautiful part of the country, nestles in a valley overlooked by National Trust land. We were shown a video about the history of Denbies and the growing of the grapes and taken to the cellars and to taste the wines. We then went to the 3rd floor and had a superb lunch with a free bottle of wine. That was followed by a tour of part of the estate, fabulous views. All in all a great day.

Our day at Denbies Wine Estate was very enjoyable and would highly recommend it to anyone considering booking an afternoon. The staff were great, very informative and they are obviously very proud of the work that they do. The lunch was delicious and the wine was great. Cannot recommend it enough.

After the film and interesting statistics the walls parted to reveal the nice wooden roller coaster cars. These gently took us through the winery and most importantly into the tasting room. 3 wines tasted and liked, headed to the Gallery restaurant to find that lunch had been moved to the Cubitt Room. Well looked after but the wines for lunch were the same ones we had tasted. The only disappointment here is the missed opportunity to present other wines that Denbies produce. The food on offer did not quite accord with that proposed as going with the wine. Good rapport between the diners and we merrily boarded the outdoor train pulled by Landrover through the vineyards and part of the North Downs Way. Truly spectacular with our brilliant and indomitable guide's commentary blown away on the wind. Beating the rain back to the shop, we bought the wines and some top-end sparklers for continuing the experience at home. St Emilion plus English weather, eccentricity and free parking.

The weather was exceptionally good which impacted on the day greatly. We were very impressed with the set up and the considerable investment which has created a very unique experience in this country. Everything about the Estate has been carefully thought out and a great experience has been created for the many visitors.

We stayed Friday and Saturday nights at the Farmhouse B and B so had plenty of time Friday evening and Saturday morning to wander around the Estate. The weather was perfect and the view from the top of the North Downs was breathtaking looking over the estate and Dorking town. The tour on Saturday afternoon was very informative with the 360 degree cinema and wine tasting. We enjoyed the train journeys in the winery and later through the Estate. It was the perfect time of year to visit as the grapes were about to be harvested. The meals in the Gallery Restaurant were very good. We bought a variety of the estate wines which we have shared with our friends and family at home and they have all commented at how excellent they are. As this was a retirement present from my company I will be letting them know how much we enjoyed the day and thanking them for an excellent present to be remembered for many years to come.

The day started with an indoor 360 degree cinema presentation of the vineyard, followed by a tour around the indoor working area of the vineyard and wine tasting. This was followed by an excellent meal with wine in the restaurant overlooking the vineyard. We then we joined the outdoor 'train' which took us around the vineyard. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys wine. Really glad we got the train there (station very close) so that we could both enjoy the wine without worrying about driving home afterwards.

    A Beautiful Day

From the reception, through the introductory screen presentation and the wine tasting, then on to the fabulous meal and the tour of the estate. We would recommend this day to friends.

A 'Continental' Experience In Sunny Sussex

A beautiful late September day made the Sussex vineyard experience extra special. We started off with a 360-degree explanatory film, followed by a guided tour through the processing plant and, of course, time for some wine-tasting. An excellent inclusive lunch, with wine of choice, was served in the third floor Gallery Restaurant where we had a panoramic view over Box Hill and the surrounding countryside. Then it was time to board the 'train' for a 45 minute journey through the estate and up onto the North Downs where we enjoyed spectacular views over the vineyard and miles beyond. In the glorious autumn sunshine this could have been the Loire Valley!
