Mentioned in The Domesday Book in 1086, Hazlewood Castle has been the venue for some spectacular feasting down the centuries. After coffee and biscuits, you'll go for a brief tour of the castle. Then follow a glass of champagne with a two-course lunch at Restaurant Anise. Next esteemed head chef Tim Hamer offers a two-hour cookery demonstration. Tim started his career at the Grosvenor House hotel (previously known as Le Meridien Grosvenor House) and has several years' experience working at top level. He'll show you how to prepare a variety of dishes, some classic, others with a twist. The demonstration includes a tasting and Q and A session and you'll get a complimentary signature apron. Remember to leave room for afternoon tea and cakes!

We enjoyed the conducted tour given by David. We were disappointed that the Head Chef was not in attendance. However the young lady Sous Chef gave us an excellent demonstration, was competent and ready to answer any questions. We did leave room for the afternoon tea and cakes but we were not offered any of the promised cakes.

I was given a cookery masterclass as an Xmas gift from my partner. I didn't realy know what to expect. But from the moment of arrival the greeting was very pleasant and curtious lovely staff. The two course lunch was superb. We then had a tour of the castle and the gentleman that took us round was very knowledgeable beutiful settings and grounds. We were then taken in for champagne before attending our masterclass. The chef Tim Hammer was superb, was very good, had a lovely sence of humour, and easy to talk to! His food was fantastic. I have never eaten so much good food in one day. I would recommend to everyone i know. We then went upstairs for coffee and cake. It was a superb day. Thank you very much!

The recipes were delicious with lots of practical preparation tips and professional advice. It was the best risotto I have ever tasted. Ours was a group of 4 which was excellent and we tasted everything - in fact we all ate so much that we couldn't manage the cake with the tea and cake at the end of the day!

The day was excellent from arriving at Hazlewood Castle to leaving. The lunch was very good, in terms of menu and quality of the food; the afternoon spent with Valerie was enlightening and informative; all the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. All in all the experience was a perfect birthday gift from my daughters.

    Superb
