    Rally driving occupies a unique place in the motorsport world. It's fast, furious and often seems barely in control. Well, find out for yourself behind the wheel of a rally-prepared Group N two-litre Sierra. Discover the secrets of skid oversteer and understeer on Knockhill's purpose-built off-track rally stage - one of the venues of the RSAC International Scottish Rally. Your experience starts with a briefing on technique and safety before you receive some one-to-one tuition on how to control the rally car. You'll be marked on your driving skills on a final stage assessment, before a white knuckle high-speed demo run by your instructor as a finale. There's a trophy for the best driver of the day and everyone receives a certificate.

    Availability

    Selected weekday and weekend dates throughout the year. Summer weekends are always busy - book at least six weeks in advance.

    Participant Guidelines

    You need a full manual driving licence - bring it with you on the day.

    Weather

    Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt.

    Duration

    Your experience lasts for up to two and a half hours, including a briefing, tuition, driving time, debrief and certificate presentation. It is vital that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.

    Numbers On Day

    There will be a maximum of 21 people taking part.

    Spectators

    Spectators are welcome and there are basic cafe facilities on site. Please note that pets are not permitted at the circuit.

    Dress Code

    Wear flat shoes which are comfortable for driving. Dress comfortably and warmly. Helmets will be provided, but if you have your own you're welcome to bring it along.

    Great Day Out, But Not As Advertised

    Was really looking forward to getting out in what could be considered classic rally cars, but when I turned up there were no Sierras to be seen only Subaru Imprezzas! Cannot fault the service provided by the team at Knockhill. In Fact would have wanted it to last a bit longer.

    My partner did the rally driving which he loved and was very good at - he got a trophy for 'Driver of the Day'. I went round the track with an ex Scottish Rally Driving Champion which was an amazing experience. The sun was out and everybody there had a wonderful day.

    The rally driving was a present for my 50th birthday and I have to say it is one of the best things I've done in my life. Certainly the most adventurous day I've had. The staff at Knockhill were terrific, everything was explained clearly and the day went without a hitch. Thank you very much for the experience.

    A really great 60th birthday present from my kids. Knockhill staff were experienced, informative and so well organised, with a sense of fun. I have looked forward to this for months and it was worth every minute. I would thoroughly recommend rally driving to anyone who has a sense of excitement and likes the adrenaline rush. And I won a silver medal, what else could you possibly want! Thank you.
