  • About

Here is an excellent way for two of you to see The Thames from a new perspective and take in some of the great sights of our capital city from the river. Jump aboard this small, light and high-speed powerboat, otherwise known as a RIB (which stands for rigid inflatable boat) and get ready for some fast fun. There is always a safety briefing to start with and you will be kitted out with the kind of gear you need for this waterborne experience. Then it's all systems go as the skipper takes you up and down the river, pointing out areas of interest and telling you stories (he knows the river really well and has lots of things of interest to share with you) so sit back and hold on!

    • A sight-seeing trip with a difference, on board a high-speed RIB powerboat
    • Fantastic views of landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern and the Tower of London
    • Fascinating commentary from your experienced skipper
    • Wet, wild and great fun

The powerboating was fantastic and the tour guide had some really funny stories to tell and was very informative, I would rate this 100% better than the London Eye and would recommend this to all of my friends.

We had a superb outing. At first I was a little worried we wouldn't get enought speed but that was made clear a bit later and then it was great. Lovely to see some of the old and new buildings that you never see from the side of the river. Got some new facts from our guide - he was interesting.

I highly recommend the RIB powerboat experience. Our guide was knowledgeable - pointing out various landmarks along the river - and very amusing. Once we cleared Tower Bridge, they upped the speed and it was so much fun as we zoomed along, music blaring! I just wished that bit was longer. A really fun trip.

The Best (And Quickest) Way To See London!

Having seen most of London from solid ground, we were bought this as a present, and loved it. Once out of the speed-restricted central London area, the skipper whizzes you down the Thames at 40 knots, quickly turning and bouncing around on the waves. On the way back, our guide gave us some interesting facts about London that I hadn't heard before, particularly about the bridges we passed under. Well worth a try - fingers crossed for sunny weather though!

    Guaranteed Great Fun

The opportunity to experience this trip in a high speed poweboat is one not to be missed and not only enjoy the thrill of the ride but also take in the unique historical views from the Thames. The highlight was without doubt the excellent entertaining, funny as well as informative commentary delivered by our guide. Not to be missed.

Ginger Pete's Stories Of The River

    Douglas M, 06 Aug 2011

We were made to feel welcome, kept informed at all stages of the journey, and very much enjoyed the experience, great fun. On the way back after the 'power sail' we were entertained by Pete's take on the London skyline e.g. why bridges were painted red or green near the Houses of Parliament, City Hall or Darth Vader's Helmet and the slight lean to Big Ben, which I had no idea about considering the number of times I must have looked at the Clock. There were many other quirky stories about a London bus and a building that could possibly be used for window cleaning championships - tales from the river. I'd just like to thank the team including Ginger Pete & Tom the driver for a fun afternoon.
