Availability
Selected Saturdays and Sundays from April to October. Dates are more scarce outside summer months. Dates fill quickly - book six to eight weeks in advance.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age 12. Maximum weight 16 stone. No experience is necessary but you must be able to swim, be confident in the water and fit enough to climb back into the raft if you fall out. For safety reasons the venue reserves the right to test your fitness.
Weather
Rafting will go ahead in most conditions. For your safety, certain conditions may lead to postponement - you MUST call the venue for a weather check. For morning bookings call the day before, for afternoon/evening bookings call before setting out.
Duration
Sessions last around two hours from initial introduction to debrief, including at least five runs down the course. Please arrive a few minutes early to register and allow for time afterwards to shower and change. Sorry, latecomers can't be accommodated.
Numbers On Day
This charter is for between four and six participants. A minimum of four participants is required to balance the raft.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome to watch from the bank. A camera will come in handy. Spectators' safety remains their own responsibility at all times. There are usually covered facilities available, but they might not see all of the action from there.
Dress Code
Bring swimwear, a towel and a pair of old trainers. Clothes will get wet. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided. If you wear glasses, you'll need to either secure them firmly or go without. Contact lenses are OK.
Other Info
You WILL get wet, but there are hot shower facilities at the venue. You might be expected to jump from the raft into still practice waters as part of your initial training session.
