Do you feel the need, the need for speed? If straightforward flying seems a bit tame, try this Top Gun style close-manoeuvre flight. Your experience begins with an intensive flight and safety briefing from ex-military instructors, before you get kitted out in Top Gun-style flight suits and parachutes. Then take to the air together for a 40 minute flight with your instructors in the Extra 300s, high-performance lightweight aircraft which are one of the premier aerobatic planes in the world. And you'll soon find out why, as you experience an airborne tactic demonstration and formation manoeuvres, waving at each other from your cockpits. Then you take the stick - your chance to try out some manoeuvres yourself and tailchase each other. Make like Maverick as you get behind your 'enemy' and transmit 'gun guns guns', to see smoke billow from the aircraft in front. Back on the ground, there'll be a full debrief and presentation of certificates. Guaranteed thrills and fun.

More information

Participant Guidelines: Minimum age is 16, min height 5' and max 6'4''. Maximum weight is 15st 7lbs. Over 55s must supply a doctor's letter confirming suitability. Please complete and return the medical questionnaire to the venue direct.
Weather: Flying is dependent on the weather and it is crucial that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out.
Duration: The experience lasts for 3 to 4 hours, including safety briefings, parachute drill and around 40 minutes' flying. Actual flying time is at your instructor's discretion. There is a little standing around as you are trained for your extreme flying.
Numbers On Day: You will each have an aircraft and instructor to yourselves for the experience.
Spectators: You're welcome to bring up to two spectators, who can join you during the briefings. We strongly recommend that you get someone to drive you home; this is a high-adrenaline experience and you may feel very tired.
Dress Code: Wear flat shoes with good grip - trainers are ideal. Women - please wear trousers not a skirt. An air combat helmet and flying suit will be provided.
Availability: Flights operate on selected Thursdays or Fridays from March to November.
Other Info: The airfield has cafe and bar facilities. You'll have the opportunity to do some aerobatic flying before landing if requested. Subject to availability, an in-flight DVD of your flight can be purchased on the day for £45.
