    In the world of gastronomy you will go a long way to find another combination as classic or as pleasurable as this particular food and drink partnership. Now that a multitude of wines and cheeses from around the globe are so easily available, creating the perfect union of flavours may seem a little daunting. With this experience you get to taste six specially selected wines and indulge in an assortment of delicious cheeses. The event is hosted by a Vinopolis in-house expert who will share some of their extensive knowledge of food and drink and guide you through all the tasting and slurping. The goal is not to overpower the flavour of one with the other, but to create relationships where cheese and wine bring out the best of each other.

    • Learn to differentiate tastes and textures
    • Choose the most appropriate food and drink together
    • Taste six specially selected wines and an accompaniment of cheeses
    • Be entertained and educated by an expert and leave having had fun
    • Vinopolis will be closed from 1 June to autumn 2012 for refurbishment

    Availability

    Takes place on Sundays, at least eight times throughout the year. Vinopolis will be closed from June to autumn 2012 (following refurbishment).

    Participant Guidelines

    Alcohol is part of this experience so the minimum age is 18. Disabled customers are welcome; Vinopolis has full wheelchair access.

    Duration

    Will last for approximately one and a half hours.

    Other Info

    You must produce your Red Letter Days booking letter at reception on the day. For obvious reasons, driving to Vinopolis is not recommended - it is easily accessible by public transport.

    A great way to spend a couple of hours and educational too. Never had Madeira before. What a lovely drink! Would recommend to anyone who likes their cheese and wine.

    What a fantastic way to spend 1.5 hours. Scrummy cheeses and tasty wine, what a great way to understand how they work as combinations. Would definitely recommend.

    This was a really fantastic day. We got to taste 6 drinks (3 wines, champagne, whiskey, and Madeira) and 6 accompanying cheeses. They were all absolutely delicious and it was fascinating to learn about the production of each drink and cheese, and to understand why they matched so well together. It was really good fun and we learnt a lot, I would definitely do it again, and recommend it to anyone!
