Lovely Day Out To Get Rid Of The Winter Blues!
Our Red Letter Day trip to Wedgwood was an Xmas gift from our family - and we saved it up until the miserable days of early March to cheer ourselves up! It was a really lovely day out - very relaxed and calm. We spent far too long looking round the museum and intend going back for another look some other day with our privilege card. Everyone made us specially welcome and a lovely lunch at our reserved table gave us a nice break before going to the display area to try our hand at being a potter. Our gifts are a lovely reminder of a really good day. Many thanks to all concerned.
Fantastic ... And Still More To Explore
We can't fault the Wedgwood Tour. It was a great full day of things to do spliced with a delicious lunch. From start to finish the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There was so much to do that we will certainly go back again.
Very well organised from the first cup of coffee until the time we left. Lovely meal and good choice of menu. Excellent gift included and even had time to make our own pots.
Very well organised. The whole day was a lovely experience. Very welcoming and yummy food! Best part was definitely throwing a pot with a very patient teacher! Would recommend this day to everyone!
The day was much more than we could possibly have hoped for. We were looked after every step of the way and thoroughly enjoyed all 7 hours of the experience, we could have spent longer in the extensive exhibition. Can't wait for the postman to arrive with our vases in 2 weeks time! Our heartfelt thanks go to all the staff.
Two Very 'Potty' Grandmas
Don't hesitate in taking part in this Red Letter Day as from start to finish we had a brilliant day. There is a real sense of friendliness amongst the staff and time to move about the Wedgwood Visitors Centre without feeling hurried. We are two very proud grandmas who 'had a go' at making a momento for our granddaughter; no need to feel uneasy about throwing a pot for the first time as there is a group of extremely friendly staff waiting to help. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Relaxing And Interesting Day And Great Fun
Staff were excellent and the reception staff were exceptional. The potter was great fun and he really worked his magic on us amateurs; his first name should have been Harry. The day was completely relaxed, the meals were excellent. We had a wonderful and interesting day out.
Brilliant Day ... Fabulous Experience!
From start to finish the day was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The museum was the best we have ever visited. Coffee, shortbread and lunch were all delicious and served very tastefully. Making a pot was very funny and Simon was a great help! This was our best Christmas present!
Had a fantastic day from start to finish - everyone at Wedgwood was very helpful and extremely friendly, food was very enjoyable, and we thoroughly enjoyed throwing our pots! Nothing to fault about the day at all.
I phoned before arriving asking about parking, as we have a motorhome, and was given friendly advice as to where we could park. On arrrival we found parking in the coach park no problem. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the tour was interesting. It was nice to be able to do the tour in our own time as I have arthritic knees so being able to sit down frequently was a bonus. The film and mueseum were both informative. Lunch was excellent and our presents lovely.Throwing our own pots, I wish I could have, but my husband was allowed to throw two. Altogether an excellent day.
We had an unforgettable experience. We were made to feel like real VIPs for the day. Everyone was welcoming and the day was very well organised. I would recommend this to anyone.
The one thing that was outstanding was the staff at Wedgwood. From the check in, to the resturant, to the museum, to the throwing of my pot, the staff treated me like a VIP. This was my first Red Letter Day and I had a wonderful day out. Thank you to all involved.
Couldn't Have Asked For A Better Day
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, a welcome cup of coffee and shortcake gave us a boost after our long journey there. A walk around the new museum, where the outstanding pieces of Wedgwood pottery and history enthralled us for over two and half hours. Next we watched the craftsmen at work in the demonstration area, flower and jewellery making and artists glazing. Throwing a pot on the wheel with the help of Simon made it very enjoyable. The staff showed us to our table for lunch, we had salmon and vegetables, with chocolate fudge cake and fruit salad for desserts. A parcel was waiting for us at the table with two lovely gifts which we are really pleased with. We then finished off with a visit to the short film area and did some shopping in their store. Overall the whole experience was excellent from beginning to end.
Friendly And Helpful Wedgwood Staff Made The Day
Had a great day at Wedgwood, particularly as its excellent new museum has only just opened. The tour of the factory and the visitors' centre was excellent and the lunch very good. We particularly liked making a pot on the wheel. We also bought a large bone china serving dish at a great price in the shop! Everyone at Wedgwood was very friendly and showed great pride in the company. The day was very relaxed and we could take our time. We would recommend the day to anyone interested in pottery and its history.
Right from the start, with a lovely morning coffee and shortbread, we had a fantastic day. The staff at Wedgwood are very welcoming, with lots of information and stories to tell. The food was fabulous with a lovely table laid out for us, and again the service was very good. We found the museum and factory tours very interesting and informative, and enjoyed the pottery class very much - the teacher was patient with us! We were surprised at how much there was to see and do, and we stayed for hours - just can't wait to receive the pots we made now!
I could not believe there would be so much to see and do. From the moment we arrived everyone looked after us so well. The have-a-go at throwing a pot was so enjoyable and not at all daunting. We spent 5 hours at Wedgwood and enjoyed every minute.
We had an absolutely brilliant day at Wedgwood and were given star treatment all day. Throwing our own pots was great fun and the factory tour was really fascinating. The friendliness of the staff really made the day for us - a massive thank you to the Wedgwood team!
Nice To See A Traditional British Business At Work
The staff were so friendly it made the day, hands on working was the highlight. With the current economic problems it's nice to see a traditional British business at work.
Informative And Great Fun
We were made to feel special with a warm welcome and a very relaxed programme of activities for the day with a good lunch. We were amazed at the craftmanship involved on the production line and the friendliness of the staff. The museum was very interesting and throwing the pot caused a lot of laughs and makes one appreciate the skills involved. In all a very worthwhile and good value for money day out.
Wonderful Experiences All Day Long
Everyone went out of their way to make our day wonderful. From the Shuttle bus driver to the Master Potter, thank you. The attention to detail was a pleasure to see and feel. The pot throwing was a great experience for my 80 year old husband - and it wasn't in a Greek restaurant!! You made an old man very happy. Thanks to all concerned.
Extremely Helpful Staff, Very Friendly
The whole day was very well organised and the staff extremely helpful. My daughter is blind, and every effort was made by the staff to help her to enjoy the day and get the most out of our visit. Everthing was well organised and everyone was very friendly.
Amazing Staff With So Much Pride In Their Jobs
My father and I had a fantastic day. The staff were amazing, really helpful and so friendly they made Dad and I feel like we were the only people there that day and I know that is how they made everyone feel. Also the workers in the factory were so nice and friendly explaining with great passion about their jobs, it was fascinating to hear their stories and years that everyone had worked in the factory and the loyalty and pride they have for the company. Even lunch was a lovely experience, the food was great, the service was great and the staff were so friendly. My father and I would just love to say thank you very much for a great experience.
The First Of Many Visits I Suspect!
My friend and I didn't know what to expect, but we were so impressed with the service and friendliness of all at Wedgwood. We would both recommend this experience, and had such fun with Simon (the master potter) when we threw our pots. The staff at Red Letter Days have been very informative, friendly and the text beforehand and the email afterwards is a good touch. Overall, both Red Letter Days and Wedgwood get a huge thumbs up ... and this is predominantly down to the people we have spoken to. Thank you.
A most interesting tour of the production site etc. with opportunity to converse with the various artisans and skilled workforce who obviously take great pride in their product, and deservedly so. There was no time limit imposed on the self guided tour with lots of information boards around the factory. A very relaxing tour indeed, highly recommended. The meal in the cafe/restaurant was well presented and tasty with a personal touch.
Great Day Out With My Best Mate
The staff were all lovely and genuinely interested in our welfare for the day. They guided us from each event and the lunch was gorgeous. We had a right laugh making our pots and it was like being on the generation game! Simon the Potter was brilliant and made the experience so much fun. Thank you.
Josiah Wedgwood - A Hidden Gem
Wedgwood staff were extremely attentive, a warm welcome and introduction, helpful staff throughout, a nice lunch, and a very patient and forgiving tutor for our potters wheel experience. All in, a most enjoyable experience.
