    Experience the incredible thrill of skydiving from an indoor environment. With a 120 mph wall of air, the wind tunnel can support your weight with ease, giving a true sensation of freefall without the need to jump out of a plane. You'll begin with a full safety briefing from your instructor before being issued your specialist flight suit and stepping into the wind tunnel. Once lifted into the air, the instructor will guide you through two sensational 60 second sessions of body flying. If you're lucky, your instructor will hop onto the air flow and demonstrate some impressive freefall acrobatics. Your flying session will conclude with a debrief and you'll also receive a DVD of your flight to take home as a memento.

    Availability

    At least one weekday and one weekend date every month throughout the year. The centres close Christmas Day but operate on bank holidays.

    Participant Guidelines

    Min age 5. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Max weight 18st. Anyone who's reasonably fit, including people with disabilities, can fly. If you're pregnant, have heart, back or neck problems or have ever dislocated a shoulder you can't fly.

    Weather

    The tunnel is indoors and isn't affected by the weather.

    Duration

    Expect to be onsite for around one and a half hours, including 20 min safety briefing, kit issue (15 mins), four 60 second body flying sessions and a full debrief. The time given is your report time, please check in no more than five minutes before.

    Numbers On Day

    Your training may be shared in a group of up to 12. Your flights are held on a one-to-one basis with just you and your fully-qualified instructor in the wind tunnel.

    Spectators

    Facilities at Xscape (Milton Keynes) and the Chill Factore (Manchester) are excellent and make for a good family day out. Spectators can watch the action from the free viewing gallery.

    Dress Code

    No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If you don't wear suitable footwear you'll be required to hire and wear trainers. Jumpsuit and other equipment is provided. Lockers £1 (refundable).

    Once you get the hang of it.......you'll not experience anything like it! I'd compare it to deep sea diving, where everything seems to be in slow motion...but it isnt! Ladies will need to wear long hair tied, as the strength of the windforce plays havvock with knots! (Conditioner at the ready) But dont be put off.....JUST DO IT!! Thanks Mum & Dad for a superb birthday treat.

    Following sky diving last year I really wanted to do more. Body flying is the next best thing without the expense and CO2 emissions, plus you get sooo much longer flying! I would definitely recommend it to all age groups however it is a lot harder than you imagine so expect your muscles to be sore the next day. I will be back for lots more!

    The staff at the centre were extremely helpful and friendly. They made everything about the experience fantastic. The feeling was so surreal, but it felt brilliant ... I can fly!!! I will never forget it and am now ready for the real thing!

    The staff on the day are excellent and really give you confidence for your first flight and you can progress really quickly to being able to control yourself while flying with really simple instructions. I will definitely be going again. A must-try for all adrenaline junkies.

    When our instructor Jean Charles introduced himself he immediately put everyone at ease, even though it was an excited atmosphere, not pensive. We then went to get kitted out and you could feel the charged atmosphere. Everyone trouped up to the flight area, all buzzing with excitement. We all sat awaiting our turns and everyone applauded each other on completing the first session - it was as good as I was expecting. The second session was even better and Jean Charles finished off with a unbelievable display of acrobatics that stunned everyone. I would highly recommend everyone from 10-65 to try it. FANTASTIC!
