    Originally used to test the aerodynamics of race cars, these powerful wind tunnels have been tilted upright to create the thrilling concept of bodyflying. With an incredible 120 mph wall of air, the wind tunnel is easily strong enough to hold human weight, creating a unique sensation of freefall without the need to plummet from the sky. You'll both begin with a full safety briefing from a fully qualified instructor before being issued your flight suits. Then step into the wind tunnel for two exhilarating 60 seconds of bodyflying. If you're lucky, your instructor will jump on the flow and demonstrate some sensational aerial gymnastics. Your session will conclude with a debrief and you'll even get a DVD to show friends and family.

    Availability

    Weekdays from 3pm until 5.30pm during term time and school summer holidays. Not available during Easter, Christmas or half term holidays.

    Participant Guidelines

    Minimum age is 4, maximum age is 16. All participants require written parental consent. Maximum weight is 18 stone. If you have had a history of heart, back or neck problems or if you have ever dislocated a shoulder you will not be able to take part.

    Weather

    The tunnel is indoors and isn't affected by the weather.

    Duration

    Expect to be onsite for around one and a half hours, including 20 min safety briefing, kit issue (15 mins), two 60 second body flying sessions (each) and full debrief. The time given is your report time, please check in no more than five minutes before.

    Numbers On Day

    Your training may be shared in a group of up to 12. Your flights are held on a one-to-one basis with just you and your fully-qualified instructor in the wind tunnel - you won't jump together, but you can watch each other's flights from the gallery.

    Spectators

    Facilities at Xscape (Milton Keynes) and the Chill Factore (Manchester) are excellent and make for a good family day out. Spectators can watch the action from the free viewing gallery.

    Dress Code

    No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If you don't wear suitable footwear you'll be required to hire and wear trainers. Jumpsuits and other equipment provided. Lockers 1 pound (refundable).

    Bought as a birthday gift for my 13 year old Son, both he and his younger sister 9 thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The instructor Joe was superb and explained everything to the group and was really supportive whilst they did their dive. Both of them had Cheshire grins after the experience and the certificate and DVD was a nice touch.

    This was bought as a well done for my 2 sons aged 12 and 15 for hard work at school. Both boys loved it although the 12yr old thought it was scary! We paid for extra minutes for the 15yr old who went in 4 times !!! The instructor Mike was brilliant and all the staff were very friendly, the only problem was my boys want to do it again !!!

    I loved it because the moment you went into the wind tunnel you floated like there was zero gravity. It felt exciting amd strange. I thought I was about to float into the sky.

    I've always enjoyed the flying dream when I'm asleep and always wake up feeling like I'm a superhero but to actually fly with my eyes open was something very special. As a suprise present with my ten year old brother we still didn't know what was in store until we got to the centre. The instructor was really funny, a real "cool dude" and we sat and had a short briefing before donning our flying suits and safety pads. The flight itself was pretty amazing and the instructor kept us in the air for two "flights" which really did feel like we were birds flying in the sky. My parents watched from the viewing area and afterwards we were both given a DVD of our experience which was a lovely momento of a fabulous experience.
