Pamper Spa Day

I visited the Balmoral Spa in Edinburgh for my birthday. The staff were very attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. I decided to visit the gym as part of my day and then relax in the spa. Hadrian's restaurant was exceptional. The staff knew it was my birthday and when my sweet arrived the chef had piped 'Happy Birthday' around the outside of the plate which was a lovely touch. After lunch I returned to the spa and chilled out in the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Refreshments were available all day in the spa and I helped myself to these. Then I had two treatments, an express massage and facial. The therapist was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the staff made it a very enjoyable day. I could easily get into the habit of repeating this experience which was fantastic.

My first treatment on this visit was an Aromatherapy floatation. Suzy was lovely and really put me at my ease. Once I had been massaged with the oil of my choice I was slowly lowered into the floatation tub and through the covers I could feel myself floating on the warm water. It was just like receiving a huge all over body hug. I was so relaxed I kept nodding off to sleep. My 55 minute treatment just flew by! I followed this with a luxurious Elemis Lime and Ginger glow scrub which smelt divine and made my skin feel like velvet. In the afternonn I was lying in the sauna, closed my eyes and just imagined I was somewhere far far away - in a tropical paradise and for that time, it just worked! At the end of the day I was just walking on air and just wished I could do it all again tomorrow!

I thoroughly enjoyed my spa day and as it was my first I didn't really know what to expect. I was greeted by friendly professional staff and was shown around the health club before being left to use the spa facilities. The facial I chose was gorgeous and actually fell asleep for a while it was so lovely. Lunch was provided and this also was very nice and was again served by very friendly attentive staff. Although I went by myself (as a Mother's Day present from my children) I felt I was looked after very well. The health club/spa was extremely clean and tidy without appearing clinical and would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

I was given this pampering day by my husband after the birth of our little one, and it was wonderful. I felt special throughout the day and the staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. I made the most of what was on offer and had a brilliant time. I would definitely go back and recommend this to my friends. What a treat!

I loved the contrast of the Citypoint Spa with its location in the heart of the city. It was like an oasis of luxurious calmness in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were friendly and professional and it was the small touches here and there that made this place a really high quality venue. My wife and I enjoyed our day there very much and I would definitely go back again.

Had a great day. The staff were very welcoming and make you feel at ease as soon as you enter. I was given a complimentary drink. The treatments were great and the massage made me feel so relaxed to the point that I did not want it to end. Every member of staff I had contact with was polite and professional in their approach. I was asked throughout the day by staff if everything was alright and if i needed anything to just speak to a member of staff who would assist me. All of the areas were clean and everything you might need from soap to razors was provided. All in all a fantastic opportunity to be pampered and spoilt for the day.

Warm welcome, calm, relaxing atmosphere out of this world, so much to do and relaxing at the same time, with friendly staff to accommodate your every need.Would recommend this to everyone who wants to get away from the stress of life.

I really enjoyed my day at Thoresby Hall! I went on my own, which I was a bit worried about but when I got there the staff were very friendly and the spa was lovely. Thank you for a great day.

A great guilt-free day of doing nothing except thinking about myself. I totally forgot about home and work for a few hours!!

It was an amazing day. I spent it at Champneys Tring and thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt. I did not have a plan which was exactly what I needed - an amazing break away from clocks, appointments, routine and work. The yoga meditation was so relaxing that I slipped safely into a deep sleep. The room with comfy chairs, duvets and music was equally relaxing and once again I fell asleep. There was of course, for those with more energy and different needs, lots to do. But for me as you will have gathered I needed total relaxation and I got it. It was so special that my husband and I have booked to return together for a break. This is a man who has never done beauty treatments or experienced a health club/resort. Now we are really looking forward to this time out to chill out and relax together.

The whole day was really great. It was good to unwind after a hectic few weeks and this ticked all the boxes. Helpful staff, great food and good facilities; even if you don't like the gym. Husband enjoyed it too and he thought it would be girly - he's changed his mind now.

Driving into the fantastic location at Champneys Forest Mere was an exquisite calming experience I shall never forget. The first class facilities offer a truly unique 'Red Letter Day to remember'. As a mature 59 year old female it was very pleasing to notice all are welcomed, there are no limits on age, gender, and fitness level in the relaxed atmosphere at Champneys. An abundance of very polite, happy staff are always available to help and answer queries. My day included a delighful cycle ride around the lake, swimming in the amazing indoor pool, fantastic back massage, relaxing manicure, superb lunch and much, much more. A dream come true! and a very personal experience I shall never forget.

On arrival at Champneys Springs, my friend and I were met and our itinerary was explained. Nothing was too much effort to reorganise so that we could have our treatments at the same time. Lunch was excellent, and when we had to leave for a make-up demo, we came back and had desserts later!! The whole day was a relaxing experience and we were made to feel 'special'. I chose to have a massage and a manicure and both therapists were truly professional, making the treatments an absolute pleasure. This was a present from my brother and sister in law for my 60th birthday, and was not only original but also the perfect way for me to celebrate. I would certainly use this gift idea for a present for someone else in the future.

Felt very special on the day. The massage made me feel very relaxed. Could use the facilities of the spa all day which made the whole day very worthwhile and certainly worth the money. Thank you.

Balmoral Spa was a truly exceptional, 5 star experience from the moment I entered this most regal setting. The spa was perfect for both relaxing and energising, the staff were very friendly and the facilities were second to none. I will definitely book again in the future! I had a wonderful time at the Balmoral Spa in Edinburgh, everyone was so friendly and helpful, I would recommend this spa to everyone. I had full use of the pool, sauna, steam room and gym plus there were complementary drinks all day. I had the 2 mini treatments (massage and facial) that where amazing, would love to go back.

I expected that the Wildmoor Spa Pamper Day was going to be great but it was much better than that. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

The staff at Citypoint were really welcoming. Katie did treatments for all of us and was great ... chatted away to Mum and made me and my sisters feel really relaxed. The spa itself is like stepping into another world. The blackberry is imprisoned in locker and it is amazing how the time passes without you thinking of anything but the time of your next treatment.

The facilities and surroundings at Champneys Tring are of such a high quality that it is hard not to feel comfortable and find peace if that is what you require. Staff were very attentive and helpful without being ever present and there were so many activities and treatments on offer that the choice was almost overwhelming! The lunch selection was just right and of a very high quality. All the 'wet areas' were maintained to a very high level of cleanliness and upkeep. I came away feeling very calm and relaxed and will definitely return! What a tonic.

My friend treated me to a spa day at Champneys Forest Mere and we had a wonderful day with just the right amount of individual pampering treatments and time catching up with each other in the pool, whirlpool, sauna, restaurant and browsing the very tempting boutique and shop. We are both working mums to young children and it was simply heavenly to have a day to ourselves to have our stresses and strains massaged and cleansed away. We both said as we left it felt like we had been in a retreat for a week, not just the day.

My mom and I went to Wildmoor Spa in Stratford. It was a brilliant day! Neither of us had been to a spa before and this experience would definitely make us want to go again. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the lunch we had was superb - tasty AND healthy! The gym was very state of the art and made working out that bit less boring, and as for the pool area - wow! That took relaxation to a new high with hammocks, comfy beds and heat lamps which made me feel like I was on holiday. Highly recommended.

I spend a wonderful day at Champneys Henlow Grange and indulged in all that was on offer. Lots of people were in twos and threes and larger groups but I thoroughly enjoyed reading a good book between treatments and facilities and it was very therapeutic to be totally on my own - which is rare with the demands I have put on me at home! The staff were always there to make sure you had everything you needed to make the day special so thank you to them, and the treatments were amazing!

This was a present for one of my special birthdays. I had a lovely relaxing time on my own (that is a novelty). Staff and facilites were all excellent. Having the day booked in January was a gift to look forward to after the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Plan to do this again soon. Great experience for me as I never get time to myself - perhaps this is a New Year resolution for 2009.

A truly relaxing day that I just didn't want to end. My wife got it absolutely right. This was the perfect Birthday gift. Five Stars!

I have just visited Champneys Springs with my mum. This was a treat for her that she knew nothing about due to her being poorly. What an excellent choice - from the day that I made the call to book this Red Letter Day, everything went smoothly. Champneys Springs was an excellent choice, from the time we arrived to the time we left, everyone was so helpful and kind. The venue was excellent with plenty to do from just relaxing to using the gym. The beauty treatments were good and the beauticians where really nice and friendly. I wanted something special for my mum due to her previous illness and this was certainly a special day.

From the moment we were personally greeted with information and the offer of a drink in the relaxing lounge, the day could not have been better. The spa building and facilities were stunning, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, the staff helpful and courteous, the food and drinks are delicious and our half hour treatments were perfect. It was a perfect day for us both.

The Citypoint spa was great - the atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, great swimming pool. I have never been to a spa in the city before, but I soon forgot I was in London, the stress of everyday life is forgotten as soon as you walk into reception. I would recommend the treatments to anyone who hasn't experienced them. I am planning to go again.

The organisation was superlative. The online booking was straight forward and the response was immediate. From the day I was given the gift card for my birthday and chose the location and date, I never had to think about a another thing. The pampering began with clear communication between Red Letter Days and the spa. I didn't have to worry about any of the planning and the day went off without a hitch. Thank you!

With no one else to please but myself and nothing to do but be pampered, it was a totally self indulgent day of pleasure and relaxation. I was completely exhausted when I got home!

Very relaxing, the staff were so nice and friendly and always there to help answer any questions. Felt like I was on holiday roaming around in a cosy dressing gown all day nothing to do!! I would love to go again, and again, and again. The massage and pedicure were divine, I couldn't think straight at work the next day ... that's how much I was relaxed! I also slept like a baby. Really felt like I had been away for a weekend!!! Thank you Red Letter Days and a BIG thanks to my boss Mark Hobbs who gifted me this lovely present.

Wow what a great day I had - soooo relaxing, the treatments and the spa experience is a memory I will treasure for a very long time. The staff were so attentive and friendly, the surroundings very relaxing and the food was superb. I had been feeling very depressed and this day gave me the boost I needed. I am still living on the 'buzz' and relaxation today. I would dearly love to go back there again and try other treatments so I will have to start saving some money. A really great pampering day out!

I booked my spa day the day before I started my family holiday. It gave me time to relax and have some time to myself before preparing for a busy family holiday. I got some lovely pampering, with a massage and manicure, and a delicious lunch. As I went on my own, I met some very interesting people, including sports men, a mother and daughter on a treat day, and several people who were staying at Forest Mere for a holiday. I had a great time in the thalassotherapy pool, where I was massaged and pounded by salt and mineral waters - it was great fun. I also managed to fit in some relaxing and actually read a book that I had been meaning to for some time. It was a wonderful day and a lovely present to receive.

I organised the pamper spa day for my wife. She has supported me at work for the last five years and given me two great children. She has only recently returned to work, so she thoroughly deserved a break from dirty nappies, screaming kids and working hard. She enjoyed being pampered and not have to worry about the kids, thank you as that was my job for the day!

My sister treated me to the Pamper Spa day in order to celebrate my 50th birthday and we both enjoyed every minute. After a pleasant greeting and short tour of the amenities we ventured firstly into the excellent gym. This was quickly followed by an aqua pilates class which was superb. Our lunch was delicious from start to finish and set us up for a thoroughly relaxing afternoon in the pool, jacuzzi and spa facilities. The back massage which followed I have to say was the best I have every had. It was nothing short of WONDERFUL. We were also extremely fortunate as the day ended with the sun on our faces as we lay on the huge hammocks in one of the outdoor areas. We both loved the day and would like to thank the thoroughly pleasant and welcoming staff.

This was my first spa experience but certainly will not be my last! The staff were friendly and the facilities cover your every need - I did everything from having a massage to walking in the surrounding woodlands. The food was also incredible with plenty of choice and I would thoroughly recommend this on your own, with a partner or with friends. Everything you need to de-stress and unwind.

The Citypoint club was an excellent venue with very attentive and polite staff, clean and spacious and uncrowded. The massage I had as a treatment was very relaxing.

Staff were lovely, setting was great, could have just done with better facilities to lounge around and sleep more.

I went to my local spa and took my mum along as a treat. She had a cold at the time and wasn't sure she was going to enjoy her day but after a session of thalassotherapy in the morning she found her headache had gone. We had a great time in the afternoon being pampered and my mum went home feeling much better. Thanks Red Letter Days !
