Availability
Most venues hold an open session a few times a month, all year round.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age varies from 16 or 18. You don't need a driving licence. Some medical conditions (e.g. pregnancy, epilepsy, fainting, neck or back injuries) may mean you can't take part. You'll need to sign a disclaimer on the day.
Weather
The weather won't affect this experience unless you've chosen an outdoor circuit. If so, please call before setting out, as severe weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain or ice) might mean that driving is cancelled or curtailed.
Duration
Sessions vary from circuit to circuit, but as a guide last two to three hours and include a safety briefing, tuition and a few minutes of untimed practice laps before heats and finals.
Numbers On Day
The number of competitors can vary from 14 to around 48.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome, and there are snack bars and viewing areas at most locations.
Dress Code
Wear flat shoes or trainers. A race suit and helmet will be provided, or you can bring your own if you have them.
Other Info
If you miss any part of your initial briefing, safety rules dictate that you cannot be permitted to take part. Please don't drink any alcohol for at least five hours prior to your experience or you won't be able to drive.
