Unsure what to expect, we arrived at the venue in Honiton Devon, to be greeted by 7 brand new shiny Land and Range Rovers and a very professional and smart office - the brief was good and helped understand the cars - onto the drive - what a buzz!!! Steep hills, water, steeper hills, water - something 10 minutes before I didn't believe I'd ever do - the cars and the instructors were fantastic.
The centre in Devon was excellent. Great welcome and well looked after. Instructor marvellous and patient - obviously an expert both at driving off road and in teaching to others. Fabulous day out. Everyone should try it!

For me it was an opportunity to see how the brand 'Land Rover', of which I have been an enthusiast all of my life, has progressed technically. It was also a very enjoyable day with a pleasant instructor who was both informative and also managed to include some responsible 4x4 off road humour! Thank you very much.
Great Hands On Experience At A Great Price
What a fantastic day! The reception was very friendly and it just got better. I got to drive an almost new Range Rover which was an absolute dream to drive. I have never driven a 4x4 vehicle before and was given excellent instruction and soon gained confidence to drive it over/under/through very difficult and varied terrain. The instructor was very knowledgeable and encouraged you all the way. You were safe in his hands the whole time. I would recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in cars. Where else could you get to drive a luxury vehicle in difficult off-road conditions with expert instruction at this price? Absolutely Brilliant!
What A Cracking Afternoon
When I arrived l I was made very welcome by the receptionist and offered a cup of coffee. I was greeted by our instructor Mark who gave us a short presentation on the important characteristics of Land Rovers and their Off Road capabilties. We then went out into the country to put the Defender 'to the test'. I then went on to have a fantastic afternoon discovering the incredible versatility of the Defender, understanding steep hill ascent and descent techniques, driving through deep water, deep ruts and at very steep angles. Mark was an excellent instructor and not only do I have great memories, but I also learnt a lot about my Freelander as well.
My day began with a steaming cup of coffee and knowledge shared with my instructor on the subject of differential drives. I thought I knew just what a differential was and did .... oops, turns out I didn't! But I tell you I do now, and here's the important bit; I now know when to use it and where with complete safety in my own 4x4. Once out upon the course my instructor was encouraging, confidence boosting and able to answer all my questions. Before attempting any manoevre, he always showed me the terrain and gave me the choice of whether I undertook it. I did the lot, driving up steps, up a river, failed hill climbing safety technique, up and down inclines I would never have known how to tackle! What a great day.
What a fantastic day! It far exceeded my expectations in every way. The instructor was thorough and professional with a great sense of humour. I was well outside of my comfort zone, but felt very safe and had the most brilliant time.
A Brilliant Day And Superb Service
I have to thank the staff at Red Letter Days and those at the off road place for a superb day. It could have been ruined as I was stuck in nightmare traffic but a phone call to Red Letter Days who put me in touch with the venue reduced the stress. When I got there they got me through the briefing and then out onto the course as quickly as possible. The instructor was superb and after a short demonstration he let me into the driver's seat and then it was all steep hills, mud holes, axle twisters and adrenaline for the rest of the time. Superb day and great staff - a big thank you.

Arrived at the meeting place, and was greeted by one of the instructors, and straight away offered a hot drink. After going over a short introduction, we went straight out into the forest. A few techniques were demonstrated, then it was my go. Straight down a muddy rocky slope. Great fun, I just want to go again, I'd recommend it to anyone.
Excellent Day Out, Lots Of Practical Tips
