The flight was smooth and at a height that enabled the passengers to view London from an entirely different perspective. It was almost like spying on people down below. A busy church fete was taking place close to a Sunday afternoon cricket match. Boats on the river could be seen approaching the open Tower Bridge. I hadn't realised quite how much green parkland there is close to the city and that contrasted very well with the compact buildings and transport links of the central districts. At no point did there seem to be any reason to be nervous about any aspect of the trip. The ground staff were friendly and efficient and the pilot was professional and gave us just the right amount of information about the flight without distracting us from the important task of looking through the window!
London Without The Congestion - Or The Charge!
Forget the view from the 'Eye' or Canary Wharf - this flight is at the best height for taking it all in. Helpful staff and a comfortable ride - the family want to come next time.
This was a trip paid for as a suprise birthday present and it was superb. It was so easy to book, the staff very friendly and well informed. We were given a safety chat which was concise and to the point. I was lucky enough to be given the front seat. The take off and flight was smooth apart from a bit of turbulence but it was very brief. The Pilot answered any questions we had and was quite willing to fly around again if anyone missed a photo opportunity. My family and friends must be sick of me talking about my day!
From the reception by the Excel staff to the flight commentary by the captain, the whole trip was brilliant. I have flown in light aircraft many times but the visibility from the helicopter was unrivalled, from the new Olympic village to Buckingham Palace and everything in between and beyond. The flight gave us a completely new perspective on our capital city that was stunning.
Fly Like A Bird Over London
This was a most rewarding experience for my son and me. The view from above of the Olympic site under construction makes one realise the enormity of the task. As a regular visitor to London I had seen many of the buildings from standing height but viewing from on-high gives a new perspective and one well worth experiencing. A brilliant experience from start to finish. Fabulous views of London combined with the thrill of flying in a helicopter.
Every part of the experience was amazing, from the Red Letter Days gift pack being presented to me as a 60th Birthday present, to the touchdown after the flight. The views over London were fantastic and it was lovely to see such recognisable features as The London Eye, The Millennium Dome, Houses of Parliament, Greenwich Park and Observatory etc from that viewpoint. The pilot was very helpful, pointing out features on the way and the pre-flight briefing helped add to the excitement. All in all - an exceptionally memorable day.
Flying High With Red Letter Days
My first experience of Red Letter Days was excellent, and I particularly liked the text message the day before wishing me a happy trip - nice touch! The efficiency and organisation was evident on the day itself. The guys on the ground were friendly and informative, and for those who were helicopter 'virgins', they were reassuring! The trip itself was amazingly smooth, and it was great to be able to listen into all of the air traffic control exchanges. The pilot was great and kept us all informed and flying over all of those London landmarks was just awesome. I was really impressed by seeing the 2012 Olympic Stadium (or what there is of it at the moment!) It was a great experience that I will never forget and, if you'll pardon the pun, the 30 minutes just flew by!
We were fortunate with the weather so once airborne we enjoyed outstanding views over east and central London and the Thames. Also the Olympic site. The pilot provided commentary as appropriate and responded well to comment. Overall it was a great experience during the course of which I took a vast number of photographs to remind me of the day.
See London How You've Never Seen It Before!
Meet and greet was easy and organised. Flight was spot on time. The weather being perfect just added to a terrific experience.

Seeing London's Finest Sights
I had never been in a helicopter before and the excitement built up day by day up to the event. No matter how mentally prepared I was, nothing could prepare me for the adrenaline rush as soon as my partner and I lifted off the ground, only to have the privilege of seeing London's finest sights at the perfect height. A perfect amount of time, great fun - I'm going again!
Excellent Views, Excellent Service
From making the first contact with Red Letter Days to take off and touch down, the service was excellent. The preflight brief was short yet comprehensive, the commentary whist in the sky was really good - he did not just fly the helicopter but gave an excellent commentary on what we could see including 'look at at the people waiting to see the changing of the guards outside Buckingham Palace'! A really good day out.
We had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the trip was amazing and a perfect length. I would recommend it to anyone.

Fascinating View Of London
This was an excellent trip. I have never enjoyed travelling at height or in a plane but this was totally different, very smooth and gentle thanks to a superb pilot. The view of London is fascinating and I would recommend anyone who loves the city to see it in this way.
Wonderful Views Of My Native City
Despite air traffic delays after we had taken off, we enjoyed another 30 minutes in the air. It felt safe to fly with such an experienced airline and pilot. We were lucky with the weather, viewing conditions were ideal as is reflected in my photographs.

The aerodrome is really easy to find and the staff were lovely - there was also a nice cafe that sold hot food as well drinks and ice creams. The helicopter trip was amazing and the pilot pointed out all the landmarks.
I had a fantastic time, the Pilot was very informative and very friendly, the whole experience was one of absolute delight.
