Extremely Enjoyable And Relaxing Experience
Lovely hotel (Rothay Garden Hotel) and bedroom with staff who were very welcoming with excellent service. Very relaxing surroundings, very comfortable lounge to enjoy pre and post dinner drinks. Food was delicious both evening meal and hearty breakfast and there is an excellent wine list to suit all tastes.
Best Meal And Hotel Ever Had.
We've stayed in quite a few hotels, but The Bermondsey Square Hotel is the best and the meal was second to none. The staff were friendly and helpful. The whole experience was amazing. Definately do it again.
We Had An Excellent Time!
The food was excellent, the hotel didn't just offer us the usual 'a la carte' option... we were allowed ANYTHING off the menu, which was included in with our gift package (we certainly took advantage). A really individual hotel, just 10 minutes walk from Tower Bridge - we would certainly recommend this hotel to all our friends and family
Wonderful weekend at the Rothay Garden Hotel. Fabulous room, comfy bed. Beautiful gardens with a river running by. Fantastic food beatifully presented and service second to none. What more could you want.
Lovely Setting, Great Food And A Comfy Quirky Room
We used our boutique escape with dinner for 2 to break up a long drive home from visiting Cornwall and for a Birthday treat. We chose the Hartnoll Hotel near Tiverton, a quirky run hotel which boasts Nicholas Cage having stopped off there and an absolutely fantastic menu with some of the best puddings I have seen outside a Michelin Star restaurant. Apart from some confusion with the bill in the morning and what was included in our package which was quickly resolved, this was a fantastic night away in a lovely surroundings with gorgeous food and a cosy room. We will be stopping off there again!
Just returned from a stay at the Feversham Hotel in Helmsley, Yorkshire. It really was an excellent short break and the hotel deserves every one of its star rating. Very friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable room and wonderful dining. Take your swimming costume, the pool is heated!
Luxurious Retreat With Great Shopping On Tap
We had a wonderful weekend in Leeds! 42 The Calls is a luxurious boutique hotel with lovely rooms, sumptuous beds and little treats like frog shaped soap and packets of smarties at bedtime! Our room overlooked the river which gave a huge sense of calm and quiet. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in a long time (with a choice of sausages from about 6 different ones and amazing fresh fruit) and I stay in business hotels every week so have high expectations! Great shopping nearby, lovely buildings and fab restaurants and nightlife, it was like being on a European city break! I would love to go back!
Salthouse Harbour Hotel A Great Place To Chill
A great hotel, all the staff friendly and helpful, the room was big and spacious, the food was excellent. Even the parking is taken care of for you so you don't have to worry about your car once you arrive.
From the time we entered Dumbleton Hall Hotel in Worcestershire until the time we left the following morning had a most wonderful and enjoyable time. All off the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the service which we received could only be described as excellent. Thank you!
Had a wonderful break at Langtry Manor in Dorset, the room was lovely and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. The staff were excellent - the best customer service ever. We went away to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary, something that we do not normally do due to having children. Whilst we were dining in the restaurant having a wonderful meal our wedding song was played, it was very touching and only by chance it was played as we hadn't requested this but this truly made our evening. The staff would go out of their way to help you and I would definitely use Red Letter Days again as this was a fantastic gift.
We had a great time at the Feversham Arms, it was to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary and the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was fantastic and we made the most of the heated outdoor pool as the two days we were there we had fantastic weather.
From we arrived at the hotel (The Lake Country House and Spa, Powys) until we left we were made to feel very special. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, with nothing being too much bother. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal and wonderful breakfast. We also took advantage of the some of the excellent facilities, e.g. the swimming pool and woodlands. Thank you for providing us with some great memories.
Rothay Garden Grasmere - an exceptional hotel, service excellent, food excellent, staff excellent, venue excellent. A thoroughly brilliant stay.
Best Present We Were Bought With Lasting Memories
We were bought the Red Letter day as a present. After much research of areas to stay with the add on of somewhere to visit making the journey worthwhile, we choose the The Master Builder's House Hotel in New Forest. We couldn't have chosen better. The hotel had a very high standard without being posh and formal, with friendly and helpful staff and set in lovely surroundings. Whilst in the area we were able to visit Beaulieu. The motor museum, top gear exhibition and lots more. The tour of the house with a guide was so good. Plus there was lots to do around the area. A lovely present.
What A Fantastic Stay. Can't Wait To Do It Again!
The Feversham Arms is a fantastic find. The place is amazing, the staff can't do enough to help you. The food was outstanding. Can't wait to go back there.
Superb From Arrival To Departure
Warm friendly greeting on arrival at the Bath Arms Hotel which was followed up with a bottle of bubbly delivered to our room within minutes Wonderful setting, excellent food and a high standard of accommodation. I'm a fussy customer at the best of times but this exceeded my expecations on every level and would have pleasure recommending to family, friends and business associates.
42 The Calls Is The Very Definition Of Boutique!
Stylish boutique hotel in superb riverside location. The full English breakfast is worth the visit alone, choice of speciality sausages as well as a whole range of home made marmalades and preserves. Friendly attentive staff.
Had a fantastic time at the Stanway House Hotel in Lymington. The meal, service and accomodation were great. Thank you.
Having been rewarded with a Red Letter Day from work, my husband and I booked a gourmet break at the Elephant Hotel in Berkshire. The hotel was lovely - very nicely themed and we had a massive room, but the highlight for me was the dinner. The food was fabulous and the dessert was THE best dessert I have ever eaten (and trust me, I have eaten a lot)! I would highly recommend it.
A Wonderful, Indulgent Weekend
We had a great experience at 42 The Calls in West Yorkshire from start to finish. The hotel surpassed our expectations and the food in the restaurant was outstanding both in taste and presentation. We were given a complimentary room upgrade on arrival and the room was beautiful with wonderful original features from the original mill. A comfy bed and fantastic breakfast the following morning completed a lovely, relaxing weekend.
It was the first time together for me and my husband free of our 20 month old son. We had a lovely room at the Lythe Hill Hotel and a bottle of Champagne on ice was waiting for us! The spa was amazing and the setting was just truly magical - we now want to do this every month!
An Absolutely Wonderful Stay In A Faultless Hotel
The Bermondsey Square Hotel was perfect in every way. The staff were wonderfully kind, the room beautiful with amazing views right across London, and the food at Alfies delicious.
Fantastic Day, Outstanding Food
On arrival at the Feversham Arms Hotel, we noticed how quaint the town was. The hotel was first class. The staff who greeted us were lovely and friendly. Our room was clean, tidy and cosy. When we went down for the meal, again greeted very politely and very professionally. But the food......OMG the BEST Meal and the BEST experience I/we have ever had.
Fantastic Boutique Hotel!
The Harbour Salthouse Hotel overlooking the marina at Ipswich was outstanding in every way. The hotel, the staff and the food were impressive. Everything was very relaxed and informal but friendly and (very British) understated! 100% recommended!
Fantastic Way To Celebrate
My boyfriend and I chose the Salthouse Harbour Hotel, Ipswich to celebrate our 7th anniversary together and we enjoyed every minute of it. Check in was smooth and efficient, when we questioned the possiblity of a free upgrade, we were given one of 'new' rooms on the 3rd floor with a beautiful harbour view. The room was stunning, with careful attention to detail throughout. Champagne was chilling on ice, a HUGE bed and best of all a freestanding bath big enough for 2! The REN bathroom products are gorgeous, but don't include any bubbles, so do take your own. Our meals were wonderful, exactly as we had hoped - they have a great menu and each course was delicious. We chose mackerel on toast and pigeon with mushroom ravioli for starters, roast rump of lamb and belly of pork for mains, both were well presented and full of flavour. The included breakfast was of a very good standard too, cooked from fresh and not a buffet bar in sight! We had a brilliant time and left with happy memories.
An Extremely Memorable Occasion
Had a wonderful time at Rothay Garden Hotel, Grasmere. Lovely room with doors leading to a terrace with table and 2 chairs, with a stream just a few feet away. It was a very quiet and peaceful position. The food more than lived up to the Hotel's reputation, with a 5 course gourmet dinner and an excellent cumberland breakfast which sets you up for the day. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble to make your stay a memorable experience. We would certainly recommend the Hotel to friends and family. Rothay Gardens is well positioned, with ample car parking, and within easy reach of the village of Grasmere, and of course for those energetic fans, plenty of good walks.
A Wonderful Weekend Escape
We booked the Salthouse Harbour Hotel in Ipswich and truly enjoyed the environment, the service, the meal, the drinks ... everything had careful attention to detail and the staff were all really friendly and efficient. The hotel was right on the harbour so had lovely views of the sunrise, plus was only a 10 minute walk into the city centre of Ipswich. Thank you!
We stayed at the Feversham Arms hotel in Helmsley which is a beautiful hotel. Its decor is a mix of modern and traditional and has managed to mantain a very homely feel. The staff couldn't do enough and we were made to feel like VIPs all evening. The meal was gorgeous, one of the best I can recall (and we eat out in Manchester often) and afterwards the barman talked us through the vast choice of whiskeys and Brandys which especially pleased my husband. It was the perfect way to spend our first anniversary.
We had a wonderful day/evening in The Bath Arms in early March when the sun was shining. The decor and the food was lovely and the staff did all they could to make our evening as pleasant as possible. It is amazing how you can feel so relaxed after just one night away! We would recommend this Red Letter Day!
Fantastic Time And Lovely Memories
We stayed at 42 The Calls in Leeds - what a great hotel - the staff couldn't do enough - welcome drinks, room upgrade (and what a room!), and the gourmet meal at Brasserie 44 was lovely - very attentive service. Return to the hotel (just next door) to find boxes of mini smarties on the pillows - small thing I know - but so nice. Breakfast the next day was at the hotel and the choice was unexpected - they have a sausage menu - pork, tomato and garlic - sooo tasty. The hotel is just down from the Corn Exchange and not far to walk from the train station or to walk into Leeds for shopping - and if you've not shopped in Leeds before, you're in for a treat. Overall, couldn't have had a better time. Thank you Red Letter Days.
Fantastic Anniversary Experience!
After winning this experience with Walkers crisps we decided to keep it for a special occasion, my partner and I decided to use this gift for our anniversary, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at what I would describe as the finest hotel in the UK (Drakes of Brighton)! The service and hospitality was superb and the food was of the finest quality, especially the rare breed pork we had for our mains - by far the best pork we have both ever tasted. This experience was truly superb and the only bad thing I can say is I wasn't allowed to take the bath home! Huge lol... with the finest food and a exquisite range of fine wines and beverages, we both had a very special time all thanks to Red Letter Days and Drakes hotel and staff.
Lots Of Strutting - And Not Just The Peacock!
We stayed at the Bath Arms in their Peacock Room. It had an amazing bed and peacock headboard. The bathroom was massive with a huge enamel bath - easily able to fit two people and as deep as a swimming pool (almost)!! It was so romantic my husband did a peacock strut or two himself! Enjoyable food and friendly staff.
Fantastic, Special Weekend For My Husband And Me
We stayed at the Rothay Garden hotel in Grasmere. The hotel is defintely 4-star - the decor is beautiful; the staff were very professional and attentive; and the food was amazing! The February weather was perfect - sunny on the Saturday so we could enjoy the scenery, and then on Sunday it snowed. We had a lovely weekend of R and R.
A Fantastic Trip To The South Coast
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful gourmet boutique escape in Stanwell House Hotel, Lymington. The staff were fantastic and we had a wonderful suite with a massive bed, seriously fluffy pillows and more TVs than we have in our house! The meal in the seafood restaurant was delicious. The hotel was wonderfully positioned right on the high street so when we woke up on Saturday morning the local market was literally on our doorstep. We had a fabulous time and it was just a shame we could only go for one night. Thank you Red Letter Days and the staff at the Stanwell Hotel...Oh and thanks to the lovely people who gave me the gift in the first place!
My wife and I were greeted by the manager on our arrival at the George Hotel in Kent and the check in was speedy. The whole weekend was enjoyable and the friendliness of the staff at the hotel helped enormously. The meals were excellent and our accommodation was smart and clean.
A Really Wonderful Birthday Treat
This gourmet experience was a treat for my wife's birthday. We stayed at the Dial House Hotel in Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds. The large room was excellent and the hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We would recommend drinks around the log fire in the lounge before sampling the fantastic a la carte menu in the restaurant. A truly unforgettable experience.
The Lythe Hill Hotel was fab ... food delicious, service great, location splendid. For me and my girl on Valentine's Day it was just right for us!!
Thoroughly Enjoyed The Experience
This proved to be a very special stay in a lovely part of Yorkshire at the Feversham Arms - a top class hotel. Both the teams at Red Letter Days and the hotel did everything they could to make it right. It was a lovely gift for us and we would recommend it.
Lovely Hotel, Couldn't Have Done More For Us!
Had a very nice stay at Loch Melfort Hotel, we were upgraded to the master suite on arrival. Wine and canapes served while we perused the dinner menu, then a lovely 4 course meal before relaxing in front of the log fire. Breakfast was amazing with top quality ingredients. Took a walk down the beach after breakfast taking in the lovely scenery. All in all a very enjoyable stay ... wished it was longer!
From the moment we arrived at the Dial House Hotel it felt relaxing and we knew that we would enjoy this time. The room was lovely and the dinner was wonderful. The service was very good and in the morning that breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. It was the little touches that made this a very memorable stay.
Excellent, Just What We Needed
The service was excellent- from the minute we walked into the Feversham Arms Hotel to checking out nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we were offered an upgraded to a deluxe suite which was amazing, the food in the restaurant was out of this world. To be followed by breakfast served in your room at no extra cost. We will definitely be going back but will take the family with us next time, this is truly a special place.
Rothay Garden Was A Real Treat
We've just arrived home following a lovely weekend in Grasmere at the Rothay Garden Hotel. The food was exceptional and as you'd expect with a boutique hotel, the rooms were contemporary and stylish with seemingly no expense spared. However, what impressed us the most was the fantastic attention to detail and attentive service from the staff, in particular from Vicky who couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. Overall, a really memorable break and we'll definitely be back.
It All Went According To Plan!
My Red Letter Day was very well organised and went ahead without any hitches. The website was easy to follow; booking was easy and the response to my booking very quick. All the instructions were clear and comprehensive and nothing went wrong. I had a lovely time, and my choice of the Master Builder's House at Bucklers Hard was just right.
We stayed on a gourmet break in Cranbrook. The event was a delight because of the attentive staff and the quality of the food in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and the rooms, although modest, were of a high standard. The beds were wonderful and we slept very peacefully. Thank you.
We were bought the gourmet break for two as a wedding gift and we have just had such a fantastic time I think it was our best gift! The hotel 42 The Calls was fantastic, our 3 course gourmet meal was a real treat and even the Yorkshire breakfast overlooking the river was fab. Most of all we were impressed with the slick running of the weekend, and the fact that everything was already paid for made it feel all the more impressive.
40Th Wedding Anniversary Present To Treasure
We had a great day and had a lovely meal and the surroundings at The Master Builder's House Hotel (New Forest) were brilliant - we were able to roam down to water's edge and have a good wonder around the garden etc. This was certainly a time to remember.
The New Inn is a lovely old place, clad in Virginia Creeper turning scarlet in Autumn at the heart of a peaceful Cotswold village. The room was fine (if in need of a little more cupboard space) and the gourmet dinner (with complementary bottle of wine) was exactly that. The whole thing was indeed an escape!
Making My Birthday One To Remember, Always!
This was a birthday gift and certainly one I will remember for many years to come. Rather than just a night away it was a unique experience. Our trip was to The Angel, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The hotel was brilliant and all the staff excelled in their service, with absolutely nothing being too much trouble. The food was certainly 'gourmet' and the only problem was choosing what to have! I would thoroughly recommend this Red Letter Days experience!
Fantastic, We Could Not Fault Anything
We stayed at the Rothay Garden Hotel and had the best one night stay. From the minute we arrived we received fantastic customer service to the minute of leaving. The customer service was exceptional. The food gorgeous. The room and view superb. The location great. We did not have to do anything but just turn up as Red Letter Days sorted out our bookings and took care of everything. We will definitely be buying Red Letter Days vouchers as Christmas presents!
My wife and I stayed at the Rothay Garden Hotel in Grasmere. The occasion was perfect from start to finish. The service we received was outstanding, however the highlight of our stay had to be the dining experience, the food was absolutely fabulous!
Restful Experience + All The Good Things In Life
The Kentish Weald is a wonderful area to explore with such charm and character, while staying in The George Hotel, an old timbered coach-inn of much historical interest together with comfort and good food and choice of wine.
The hotel was fantastic. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay an absolute joy. The suite was large with all top end fixtures and fittings. I couldn't fault it at all. The food was great standard also and the wine and cocktails were second to none that I have ever tasted. Thank you very much to Feversham Hall and all the staff there for great memories.
The Elephant Hotel is a really pleasant escape in a wonderful setting. My wife and I took a stroll along the riverbank and watched the canal boats in the sun. The food in the evening was first-rate and the staff were welcoming, polite and happy to help.
Double Celebration At Rothay Garden!
I had a wonderful birthday surprise of a Gourmet Break for Two from my lovely family! My husband and I decided to combine this treat and our wedding anniversary. It took a while for us to decide exactly which venue to select as each hotel available on the website looked lovely, each with something individual to offer. We decided upon Rothay Garden Hotel, Grasmere - and what an excellent choice we made! The location of the hotel, set amongst the hills was wonderful. At the hotel the service, standard and food were exceptional, with excellent presentation. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This hotel truly deserves the 4 stars it has been awarded! We would certainly visit again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Lake District break with quality and style.
Great Food And Excellent Staff
From the time we arrived and left the following morning the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent. Well cooked and beautifully presented both at Dinner and Breakfast. This Red Letter Day was for my wife's birthday so was important that the stay was enjoyable.
Couldn't Have Asked For A Better Weekend
We had a fantastic stay at the Rothay Garden Hotel in Ambleside. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food - FANTASTIC - and the accommodation, beautiful.
Great Food, Fantastic Service
Having received a Red Letter Days gift, the next question was what to spend it on. Sharing a romantic gourmet break seemed the ideal. The food at Rothay Gardens lives up to the hype and with a comfortable room, and free bottle of wine, we were able to enjoy the lakes whilst also escaping the weather.
From An Experienced 5* Hotel User, Fantastic!
We went to the Feversham Arms Hotel and Spa in Helmsley. From the moment we arrived the staff were 1st class. Our every whim was catered for, just what you need on a break. The hotel itself was so nice, very homely and cosy. The room was perfect, I have never been so relaxed so soon into a stay! Bang and Olufsen TV, DVD and CD player, along with a selection of CDs and DVDs. This system was also wired up to the bathroom so you could relax in the tub with the beautiful L'Occitane smellies provided whilst drifting away to some soothing music. A varied selection of magazines and books were also provided. I had some scones and coffee early afternoon, delicious! The dinner was beautiful, we paid a supplement to have the A la Carte menu which was amazing. The service is so professional. Excellent value for money and we will definitely return!!
The hotel at 42 The Calls in Leeds was gorgeous. We loved the old style feel and the pictures of how it was pre-renovation were brilliant, you could really see how it has come along. Brassiere 44 where we had the meal was divine heaven, nothing more we can say really.
The hotel was lovely, the food was fantastic, and the setting (Grasmere) couldn't have been nicer. A wonderful break in a wonderful place.
A Very Enjoyable Overnight Trip
The hotel is right in the centre of Bury St Edmunds and is amongst some very interesting tourist attractions. We had a very pleasant, well equipped, comfortable room. Very clean, well run hotel. All staff that we engaged, in hotel and restaurant, were most helpful.
We Had An Excellent First Wedding Anniversary
We Stayed at the Bath Arms Hotel, Warminster. The hotel was lovely, the room superb, the food some of the best we've ever tasted and the staff very friendly. The excellent location really adds to the feel of this old English hotel.
What A Wonderful Birthday Present!
Not only the perfect escape, the perfect location, also the perfect birthday present!
A Step Back In Time, A Really Lovely Night
The Crown Hotel is old, cosy and full of character. The room was cosy but not small, with plenty of space in the bathroom and an excellent shower, which makes a change. The food was good and plentiful, fantastic cold spread for breakfast as well as the Full English. The staff were welcoming and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We really did have a wonderful time.
The hotel was superb, food very good, location stunning.
An Unforgettable Experience!
Hart's Hotel in Nottingham was an outstanding choice. The location was easy to find from the M1, the grounds were very attractive, the staff were not only welcoming but helpful, and we were given a very comfortable and modern, well furnished room. As for the food, we really enjoyed the dishes on the inclusive part of the menu. It was clear to see why their restaurant is Michelin recommended. As first impressions go, Red Letter Days gets the thumbs up from me and the missus. Cheers!
The Bath Arms is set in a beautiful countryside location with easy access to beautiful Bath, Salisbury and the nearby Longleat Forest. We we very impressed with the boutique feel of the hotel and the accomodation - the only moan is having a bath only in the room and no shower. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Overall a thoroughly relaxing break in great surroundings - wish I could have stayed a few extra days!
A Very Personal, Special Treat
Once dates chosen, the booking was very efficient. The Hotel oozed class yet had a very personal approach. Sumptuous surroundings and food. We were also treated to snow at the seaside!
