    Drakes of Brighton

Due to an illness in the family we needed to move our booking on the day we were due to arrive at Drakes. They couldn't have been more accommodating even though there was no obligation for them to allow us to move our date within the seven day cancellation period. The staff were efficient, attentive but never intrusive. The room was small but comfortable. Quality of food for breakfast and dinner was excellent - one of the best we've had outside London. The hotel location was also perfect being less than a 10 minute walk to the Lanes, the pier and the Royal Pavillion which was well worth a visit for the excellent tour. The cocktail menu was really good and I indulged in one of the best I've ever had - their pornstar martinie - beautiful! All in all, everything you would expect and more from a 4 start hotel situated in a town house setting. The staff are to be comended for their excellent friendly and professional service and for going the extra mile to make us feel valued.

    Dumbleton Hall Hotel

Beautiful building, fantastic views, lovely food. Bedroom was large. Only downside was that the service at breakfast was a bit slow. Dogs are welcome (£10 per night charge). Highly recommend a visit to the Cotswold Wildlife Park (45 mins away), which is also dog friendly.

    Quay Hotel and Spa

The hotel was wonderful and the staff friendly and helpful.. We took out black labrador with us and even she was welcomed and fussed over. The room was of the highest quality and we had a door leading out to a patio allowing us to take Bonnie out without having to traipse through the hotel - a bonus at six in the morning.

    Abbots Brae Hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Abbots Brae for two nights and we both thought that the accomodation and the hosts were excellent. The room we stayed in (Lamont) was magnificent, it was very spacious, very clean, had a comfortable bed and brilliant views. The hotel is warm and welcoming as are Colin and Christine, who paid us lots of attention and were quick to offer advice about things to do locally. We both really enjoyed our stay here and would reccomend Abbots Brae to anyone

    Hard Days Night Hotel

This was bought as a 60th birthday for my husband. The hotel was superb and an essential stay for the Beatles enthusiast, well positioned for all the main attractions If you stay here you must take the Beatles tour organised by the hotel. Jack our taxi driver was very well informed and took us everywhere you could possibly wish to go, this is a three hour tour and well worth the money. All in all an excellent few days, highly recommended.

    The Angel Hotel

The Angel is in a great position right opposite the Abbey Gardens in the middle of the town and very near to restaurants and shops.Staff were pleasant and welcoming. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. Decor in the lounge area and the dining room was a bit bizarre (touches of 'goth' mixed with tribal artefacts all over the place.

The Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel

Hotel location was great for central Oxford, Staff were excellent. Breakfast was the normal for a 4 star. Didn't try the evening meals as Oxford was so close. Would go back to this hotel.

    The Master Builder's House Hotel

This was an ideal getaway to visit the Motor Museum and surrounding area. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. When it didn't (plumbing problems in the shower) the hotel staff went out of their way to correct and compensate for the problem.

    Rothay Garden Hotel

A beautiful hotel set in a gorgeous location. Food, staff, spa etc, all very pleasing. Only draw back was the room size. Low ceilings made it feel very small and bad lighting. However, it was beautifully decorated.

    Ramada Hyde Park

Conveniently situated between Queensway and Notting Hill underground stations, this hotel is great for exploring the city. A hearty breakfast sets you up for the day and the staff check the breakfast buffet every few minutes to keep it well stocked and refreshed. The beds are comfortable with lovely fluffy pillows for a good night's sleep. The room overall was clean with lots of mirrors and sockets for straighteners, mobile phones chargers etc! Check-in was probably the fastest I've ever experienced with friendly, attentive staff. We would have no hesitation staying there again.
