Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa
Great staff - very welcoming and friendly. Service was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. Choice of food really good. Room was a good size and everything we needed was provided. Despite the hotel being busy with 4 weddings over the one weekend, the service didn't suffer and other people's events did not intrude on our stay at all.

The Hand at Llanarmon
Great location for a walking base. The hand gave us a warm welcome with lovely blazing open fires. The rooms were very comfortable and the evening meals were delicious.

The Fox Inn
A real place to get away from it. Very nice rooms. Good food and lots of it. Excellent service all in an idillic seting. Hopefully we will return again.

The Thelbridge Cross Inn
Out of the way and very quiet but a relaxed venue and good English pub atmosphere. Food was good, especially the breakfasts and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

Notwithstanding the long and tortuous walk from room 136 to the restaurant, my wife and I were very impressed with the quality and friendliness of all services.

Highgate House
Highgate House is a hotel where you feel valued and trusted. Lovely rooms, attentive staff and value for money food. There is plenty to do if you like walking, history and exploring. Or you can just chill out and use the pool etc.

The Oakhouse Hotel
Axbridge is an unspoilt town with a quaint town square. The Oakhouse is a lovely, atmospheric hotel with attentive staff and wonderful food. Cheddar, Glastonbury and Wells are all a short drive away. All in all a great get-away-from-it-all break!

Rossett Hall Hotel
Excellent service from staff and very comfortable room. breakfasts were great but the buffet service at weekends was a little cold. This was easily recified the next day when we ordered from our waitress. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

Forest Lodge Hotel

The Hand at Llanarmon
We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at The Hand and would definately recommend this hotel. It is clean comfortable and the staff are very friendly it's a great place to relax and has a good restruant and bar so that you can meet other guests and locals. The surrounding area is beautiful and is set in a little village and is ideal for walking.

We where given this gift for Christmas by our Daughter and Son-in-Law. We loved the location and the hotel was amazing, very good service from all staff and a warm welcome on arrival, the bedrooms where very spacious and comfortable, the bar and restaurant were both very nice, and the Spa facilities where ample and used them all, we went away feeling very relaxed and have also reccomened the Hotel to other friends. We both enjoyed our stay and our visit to Shrewsbury town.
