Give in to tea and cake cravings at one of a range of hand-picked venues, including charming hotel restaurants and lounges. What's included will vary according to the location chosen - for example be served a traditional English cream tea, a tea with finger sandwiches and homemade cakes, fancy pastries and champagne, or cakes and cocktails, and some venues offer the experience for more than two people. Whichever it is, find the perfect spot to relax on any occasion from Mother's Day to 40th birthday celebrations, and indulge and while away an afternoon. Tuck in!
Bookings are offered seven days a week at most venues (bear in mind that hotel venues can be much busier during summer months).
Everyone is welcome, but at least one guest must be an adult (18 or over).
Tea is served in the afternoon, usually between 11am and 6pm.
The majority of venues offer this experience for two people, although there are options included within our range for three and for four.
Most hotels request smart casual dress.
Excellently service, lovely afternoon tea with the lake complete with passing steam gondola or Wetherlam to wonder at
Good variety of sandwiches, homemade scones with Jam and cream and dainty cakes/pastries; all washed down with tea of our choice. The table was set with pretty china and the staff very attentive.
The service and food was first class, scenery was very relaxing and peaceful. I also found the history of Lilly Langtry very interesting.
Had a great time with my husband for afternoon tea. The location was great coupled with amazing grounds. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant, would highly recommend it.
We were given the afternoon tea experience for our retirement last year by two very good friends and decided to wait until the spring, when the winter was behind us and summer would be round the corner. It was our first visit to Walworth Castle and we weren't disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and the building magnificent. The lounge was comfortable, quiet and you felt very special. All the staff we came across were pleasant and attentive. We hope to repeat the experience in the near future. You don't need an excuse to just chill out for a couple of hours and would strongly recommend the experience.
First class service, friendly staff, sandwiches, cakes and scones to die for. Only wish I had had room to eat all the feast. Coffee was first class too.
Friendly, efficient staff. We arrived early but our table was ready and waiting for us. The food was delicious. The staff attentive but not intrusive. Should become a weekly event really!
I went here as a present and found it on balance to be a pleasant experience but I am vegetarian and the sandwiches I received were bland and also I would have liked the choice of brown bread and not just white. I think the waiters and waitresses were very professional and friendly but not so the receptionist. I loved the scones and the hotel was beautiful as were the grounds.
Beautiful setting for our afternoon tea an the lovely Wivenhoe Country House. Excellent service throughout our stay. Great food only criticism would be too many cakes and not enough sandwiches or savoury options. Lovely fresh lemonade and choices of tea and coffee. Definitely will be going again, ideal for a nice afternoon with friends or family
Very good service at this hotel; we broke down on the day of the booking and it looked as though we'd miss our tea. But when I rang the hotel, they agreed to hold it for an extra hour beyond the normal time, so we got there after the breakdown man set us on our way. We were very pleased with the hotel's response, though their number was not on our form, we obtained it without difficulty from the 0800 no. provided.
A sunny day touring Kent completed with an afternoon tea at Shelleys situated in a picture book village square. The staff were superb and attentive providing a mixture of finger sandwiches, scones and fresh cake portions together with a well filled pots of cream and jam. This had been a UK wide gift, which we redeemed during a visit to Kent. We went back to our Hotel well satisfied. We can recommend Shelleys Tea Rooms, and the Red Letter Gift for someone special.
I brought the Afternoon Tea experience for my Mom for Mother's Day. We had an amazing time. The views were fantastic. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food itself was delicious - a great variety of sandwiches, cakes, and scones with cream and jam. We drank traditional English tea, and we were frequently asked whether we wanted a fresh pot. The staff even poured the tea for us! The manor was of course delightful - the lounge area was so cosy, especially as the log fire was burning. All in all, we had an absolutely brilliant time, and we are planning on returning some time in the future. Also, it is situated 10 minutes away from the historic village of Chippen Candem where we spent an hour looking around the quaint little shops. Thus, location is perfect.
A Mothers Day spent here for afternoon tea. Beautiful old house, staff very polite and welcoming, afternoon tea beautiful and plentiful, would definitely return for another special occasion.
Great place to have a meal excellent service
A nice treat for my daughter and I and the staff were attentive and friendly.
Lovely hotel and the staff were very attentive
Friends joined us for a very tasty, well presented collection of sandwiches, scones and pastries supported with copious good tea and coffee. Lovely!
The Crooked House was a unique experience. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was delightful. We left there completely full up - in fact unable to eat everything.
