Excellent Fun And Educational
The skidpan was some of the best fun I've had in a car for years. I thought I was fairly competent in slippy conditions anyway but during the day learned real techniques that will definitely help on the road should I ever run out of talent! The new skills definitely shone through at the end of the day when I took home the cup for the quickest timed lap of the skidpan, which caused some elation!
Got to learn control in both front and rear wheel drive cars, instructors were excellent and lots of fun and we got to do lots of driving. I now have more confidence in slippery conditions and know what to do and what not to do. A great choice of experience for any age, male or female!

Very Enjoyable And Informative Experience
The instruction was very good. This is definitely an experience I would recommend to others. The instructor's comments were very fair and to the point. The experience opened my eyes to how easily an error can cause disastrous effects, and an insight into what to be aware of. I also think the event is very good value for money.
An Extremely Easy Way To Arrange A Fantastic Day
My parents arranged a day out on the skidpan for myself and my brother and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, we may even book it up for our father to do as he always 'knows best'!
How not to do it and how to do it ... great day let loose on the skidpan track, first go all over the place, then a little instruction how to correct a skid, then the time trial. All good fun, well worth a go.
... the weather was dreadful; the skidding was brilliant! Educational but fantastic fun. I hope I never have to implement the skills though!

Fantastic Day, Learnt Lots Of New Skills
This course not only enabled me to learn skills that could potentialy save lives but was also great fun to take part in. The instructors were excellent who had plenty of time for you and explained things very well. I would recommend this course to anyone serious about driving.

Driving Skills That Everyone Should Learn
This was a great experience and well worth doing, introducing useful skills which may be needed on the road one day. The instructors were very helpful and informative and achieved the right balance so the course was demanding but enjoyable at the same time.
A Fun And Useful Sliding Time
Skidpan driving involves appreciating and learning all about driving on slippery roads. The team were friendly and knowledgeable, and the time spent on the track was more than adequate. Learned all the differences between front and rear wheel drive cars, ABS and braking. A great day out if you want to combine a fun-filled driving experience with potentially life saving advice on how to steer a car in tricky road conditions. Red Letter Days provided a great service all around the event. The only shame is that I didn't win the time trial at the end ;-), but somebody else was faster.
Brilliant Experience, A Must For Any Driver
This was a Christmas present from my husband because he knew I had always wanted to have a go at it. I was slightly apprehensive about crashing the car/making an idiot of myself/having to accept I am not the great driver that I like to think I am (!), but the instructors immediately put me at ease. We were split into two groups and the session began with a demonstration from the instructor, following which each member of the group got their turn to put the theory into practice. There is also the opportunity to remain in the vehicle while other members of your group are driving. The tuition was excellent, covering the basics of how to avoid a skid in the first place and, if you find yourself in a skid situation, how to safely control the vehicle. This is a must for any driver and an unforgettable day out.

I passed my driving test in 1971 at the age of 17 and later received police standard and advanced driver training, albeit a long time ago. Although I never thought of myself as exceptional, I thought I was a better driver than most. A session on the skidpan at Manby under the expert guidance of James taught me how little I really understood the dynamics of car control. Anyone who drives a car on the road should attend this course. It really is an eye-opener. A truly worthwhile, challenging, exhausting learning experience. You will, whatever your present ability, come away a better driver.
Excellent Experience - Great Fun
Not only is Skidpan great fun, you can also use the skills if the unfortunate was to happen whilst driving. The venue at Silverstone was excellent, great facilities and the instructors were friendly and patient!
Brilliant, Well Organised Experience
This was not only an adrenaline rush but an extremely well organised, well instructed session that will make me a safer driver. Everyone who has a driving licence should attend such a course. I certainly shouldn't have waited 35 years for the experience.
It was a fun day, but you also gained some valuable driving experience and how to control the car in a skid.
If you are one of the millions of drivers out there then this is for you ... a learning experience and a must for all. The staff are very friendly, and the tuition is excellent. Even for those who have just started to drive, you will walk away with the knowledge that if you are involved in a situation on the road, this experience could be the difference between life and death. A big thank you to the team - I learnt loads and had a great time.

I had a fantastic day skidding around the track - very fun! With the instructor's expert guidance, we learned to control skids and how to deal with front and rear wheel drive cars in hazardous conditions. I left feeling more confident and having had a blast!
Loads Of Fun And Definitely Something Worth Doing
This was one of the best days I have had in a while. The instructors are a great laugh and very supportive to everyone who does it. Doing the skidpan adventure is also useful to anyone with a driving licence since it teaches you many things that are not taught in driving lessons today and may well come in useful one day.

Best 2 Hours Of Fun I've Had In Ages
I was very apprehensive at first, especially after the instructor had done a demonsatration! After safety instructions and then once behind the wheel it was brilliant fun. The instructor was very good and explained everything really well. I have to say it was the best 2 hours of fun I've had in ages. Really glad I did it and highly recommend it. Thanks to my husband for buying me a Red Letter Day for Christmas that made this possible.
