Very professional outfit, great instructors with real quality tuition. Clealy the weather is a strong factor here, and it turned out to be a perfect day for surfing. Saltburn by the Sea is a real gem of a place and its charm and beauty was a real bonus to the day. As for the surfing itself .....i'm hooked! Such a buzz to actually ride the waves. The tuition has given me the confidence to do it again and again.

Friendly instructors for a full 2 hour lesson which was nearly all in the water, almost everybody was able to stand up on the board by the end. Followed by board and suit hire for as long as you wanted for the rest of the day. Harlyn Bay is a beautiful and safe location for novice surfers. A++

My son bought the surfing experience for Christmas and I couldn't wait to hit the waves.The instructor was fantastic and gave us very clear instructions which meant when we did get into the see all of us managed to stand up on the surf board by the end of the lesson. I had such a great day and loved surfing so much that I've invested in a wet suit and will be hitting the waves again soon.

Wish I'd tried this twenty years ago. It's a really great day. Lots of falling off but the thrill of catching the waves and finally managing to stand up and ride a wave is so cool. The location is beautiful. If you wonder whether the North East is the place to learn surfing then don't be put off. Saltburn is very pretty, it's a fantastic beach, the water was warm (July) and the surf on the day was just right for us. Go and get wet.

Made very welcome by the team in beautiful Harlyn Bay near Padstow - you couldn't wish for a better location. Although the wind was cold on 31 October, the surf was very plentiful and once in the water we quickly warmed up. Coaching was very good in small groups (just three in mine).

After many years spent with friends on the beaches of the south west, I was shocked to find such a beautiful bay in Cornwall! The instructor was great, really helpful and filled the participants with confidence. The waves were pretty big for beginners but we all managed to get up and 'ride' during the day. Thanks to my great friend who bought me the gift and to all involved for making it such a fantastic 'indian summer surf safari'!!

This was a gift for our daughter's 16th birthday, she had a brilliant day and was soon riding the surf! We thoroughly enjoyed watching.

The lessson in the morning was the perfect start and got all of us feeling confident, and having free hire of the wetsuit and board for the afternoon allowed us to explore the local coastline and ride the waves at our leisure.

I really enjoyed my Red Letter Days surfing experience, the instructors are really friendly and helpful. At first I didn't want to stand up on the board but they helped me overcome my fears and I did it. I think it's an excellent way to introduce yourself to surfing.
