Availability
Rafting starts in early spring and runs throughout the summer and on into late autumn. The main rafting seasons are spring and autumn when the white water is at its peak. Summer weekend dates fill quickly - book six to eight weeks in advance.
Participant Guidelines
Scotland: Minimum age 10, non-swimmers welcome. Wales: Minimum age 12, maximum chest girth 49'', and you must be a confident swimmer. For safety reasons, venues reserve the right to test your fitness. Please advise us in advance of any disabilities.
Weather
Rafting will go ahead in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the rivers are too swollen.
Duration
Your session will last for approximately two hours. Allow for time afterwards to shower and change.
Numbers On Day
The maximum group size is seven in Wales and eight in Scotland. You'll need a minimum of six people on board to balance the raft. An experienced instructor will be in the raft with you at all times.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome. They'll be able to see varying amounts of the experience, depending on the location. A camera will come in handy.
Dress Code
Bring swimwear, a towel, a pair of old trainers, a dry change of clothes and a wetsuit if you have one. Buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided. If you wear glasses, remove them or firmly secure them.
Other Info
You WILL get soaked, but there are hot showers at both venues. You might be expected to jump out of the raft into still practice waters as part of your training.
