Fun Morning Out

Great way to spend a Saturday morning, Not a particularly mad sushi fan but this is great fun. Simple dishes with simple ingredients and you get loads to either eat there or take away. So plan an evening where you can eat all you make. Instructor very good and nothing taken too seriously. Would recommend for anyone who has an interest in sushi or just a great idea for a gift.
Sushi! A Good Day Out In Oxford!

My son gave us a Red Letter Day Sushi School for Two; we went to Yo! Sushi in Oxford. It was great. Seven of us there with mixed age ranges. We had a warm welcome from the restaurant and then we were led through how to make a range of about 6 tasty dishes - I lost count! - by a really friendly happy sushi chef. A good host! Food hygiene was excellent and he was very aware of a food allergy in one of our group and worked round it. Some ingredients were raw, some freshly cooked by assistants as we worked. We ate and ate and still had lots to ring home as well as our sushi rolling mats and instructions on how to do it all again. A great great present - thanks Jon!!
Very Informative And Enjoyable.

What fun we had. We had a small group of 10 so were well looked after. We started from scratch and got stuck in straight away and made lots and lots of different types. We came away feeling ready to make sushi at home and will certainly be doing just that. Great value too and the sushi we made and took home would have probably cost half the cost of our day so just like a half price day. Have a go!
Interesting, Tasty And Fun

My mother bought experience for my sister and I as both foodies. Went to Yo Sushi by St Paul's and enjoyed the event. Small groups at table of 4 by the Sushi chef. Good history lesson on Sushi and really fun going through the various types of sushi on offer. Afterwards they take all the sushi you made and cut up for you to take home with good recipe book. Would recommend for any sushi fans or food lovers.
Great Fun And We Learnt A New Skill!

The staff at Yo Sushi were really friendly and very good teachers too. Making sushi looks very tricky and it is quite fiddly but everyone managed to make everything they taught us and we got to eat it all too. Yummers!
A Really Good Experience

This was great fun to do. The chef was very good, explained things well and happy to answer questions. Thought it was quite noisy being in the restaurant but it actually added to the atmosphere. Loved the meals we made and the fact we could take away what we didn't want to eat there and then. Good that you got a booklet and mat so you could try it at home as well. Very good.
Really Interactive Japanese Experience

A great experience from start to finish, with a really lively class taking place within the restaurant - right in the middle of the action! A nice mixture of learning how to roll sushi by practising a variety of dishes, as well as watching a masterful chef teach you about slicing of the fish and different Japanese words. Taking the mat, recipe book and platefuls of sushi home also made the experience feel like it lasted longer than just the lesson, now it is all about recreating the dishes back at home.
A Great Fun Day Out

I didn't really know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it! You learn a bit about the history of Sushi (without it going on too long) and then you get to make loads of Sushi and it isn't as difficult to make as you think it might be. I bought it for my husband for xmas and I would definitely recommend it!
Very Enjoyable

Very good hands of course, instructor may have talked a little too much at the begining and was expecting bit more fish but generally very fun and nice.
Great Experience, Would Recommend

We had a great time and were very well looked after by Gabi, our sushi teacher. She was passionate about her subject and gave us lots of good hints and tips. We made all sorts of different sushi, ate some of it at the end but still came away with enough for a meal to share with friends!! A different experience that has inspired us to organise a sushi party at home in the near future. Would highly recommend for anyone who loves sushi (or food in general).
Good Fun!

I booked this as an anniversary present for my boyfriend and I. We both love susi so were looking forward to the experience. We ended up doing this with another couple, so it was a small class. The chef was great and the food we made was yummy! You get so much sushi! You can feed abut 4/5 people with everything you make! Was well worth it.
Great Fun

We did this at the Russell square restaurant due the lord mayors shown. The course leaders where fun, knowledgeable, friendly, sometimes coming round to where we making the sushi and putting us right. We made loads of sushi rolls and hand rolls. We ate a lot and took a lot home too. At the end they explained the whole fish cutting process. A great day that I would happily do again - even wearing the hat!! Thanks guys you made it so much better than just making sushi.

We had a great day and took home enough sushi for our picnic on the following day. The teacher was very informative and we would recommend the course to anyone.
