Here is an excellent way for two people to see the Thames from a new perspective and take in some of the great sights of our capital city from the river. Jump aboard this small, light and high-speed powerboat, otherwise known as a RIB (which stands for rigid inflatable boat) and get ready for some fast fun. There is always a safety briefing to start with before being kitted out with the kind of gear needed for this waterborne experience. Then it's all systems go as the skipper takes you up and down the river, pointing out areas of interest and telling stories (he knows the river really well and has lots of interesting snippets to share) so sit back and hold on!
Seven days a week during the summer season (March - October). Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only for the remainder of the year (closes over the Christmas period).
Under 14's must be accompanied by a participating adult. If you have ever suffered a serious back, neck or knee injury, we recommend that you seek medical advice before booking. Wheelchair users welcome but pregnant women can't participate.
The weather shouldn't affect this experience as trips go ahead in virtually all conditions, but please do call the venue on the morning of your experience if in any doubt.
Lasts up to one hour and 15 minutes, including your briefing, kit issue and around 50 minutes on the water. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the booked time. In season runs daily, on the hour between 10am and 6pm. After October, at weekends only.
Share the RIB with up to 12 other passengers , plus a skipper and guide.
Friends and family are welcome to watch from the shore, but won't be able to see much of the action. However, there is lots to see and do on the South Bank while they wait.
Wear flat-soled shoes. Lifejackets are provided (you may get wet). Please secure glasses with a safety strap to make sure they aren't blown away.
All skippers are commercially qualified, with years of experience driving high-speed RIBs and lots of fascinating stories to tell about the history of the Thames. Take your booking confirmation letter with you on the day in order to participate.
From start to finish I had a permanent grin on my face, staff were entertaining and the trip was brilliant, highly recommend this.
Great adventure thrill ride on water, fantastic & safe fun on the water.I would recommend this adventure to any thrill seeker.
This was an interesting, funny and exhilarating experience. One we will not forget as we were celebrating my mums 70th birthday.
Perfect present for my boys, aged 10 14 and 70. Bad weather was irrelevant all wrapped up in waterproofs. 10 year old described it as Cool so it must have been good. Only thing seems much younger children can go in it than Red Letter said.
A thrilling experiance given by Tom the Tourist Guide and Chris the pilot. Slowly down the Thames passing all the fantastic sights of London then really fast. Exhilarating.
Excellent rib ride. Skipper Ian gave us a great voyage. Little Mark was well knowledge and gave an good discription of the sights and history of the Thames.
Good to see the river from a different perspective. Informative and great fun. Skipper and guide add to making this a really enjoyable experience.
Far exceeded expectations
Fantastic experience, the guide was very funny and informative and the driver was highly skilled! Really fun experience, highly recommend. Our driver and tour guide were both called Steve - that's the boat you want to book! Also Mike really helped us to book it when we tried to redeem our voucher it was fully booked for the day but as it was my partners birthday he put on another boat especially and juggled passengers around to fit. Great staff.
a day to remember
Great fun, learned some new facts, and had a great safe experience. Excellent professional service from start to finish with the personal approach. We loved it and felt truly looked after from start to finish. Totally relaxing and exhilarating way to enjoy the capital away from the crowds. Looking forward to trying it again soon as the skyline is constantly changing, no two trips will be the same.
Excellent mix of fun and information! Laughed a lot ! Craig the guide very good - would recommend! Both parents and daughters enjoyed alike.
Great experience and lots of fun even in the rain. A saunter up the Thames from Waterloo to Tower Bridge and then the boat goes at full speed from side to side . Fantastic . Great friendly staff and an excellent adventure.
The ride was fantastic. My family had a thrilling day what a really fun way to ride on the Thames. And a wonderful way to see London. Our crew Craig and Dave were wonderful and kept us entertained with stories and fascinating facts about London. Would highly recommend this trip.
Good fun trip - entertaining and informative commentary on the way to Tower Bridge then the engine is revved and the speed picks up! My only regret is that we didn't go as far as the O2 - I would have liked a little more of the turns and twists. Overall a tad pricey but good fun!
Arrived and were warmly greeted and kitted out with waterproofs and life jackets .after safety briefing we went slowly up river, this is rather tame we thought? Then our skipper opened the throttles and our experience really started, this powerboat really packs a punch! after a session of high speed manouveres we turned and slowed for a return trip at a leisurely speed. This enabled our guide to point out places of interest and give information on what we saw..A throughly enjoyable expierience.
At speed, in the sun and away from the crowds, this is a novel and exciting way to view the Thames. The tight turns speeding close to the river banks are exhilarating and the crew's witty repartee help to put a new slant on the capital's sights.
Thoroughly recommend this experience, light hearted and factual commentary, exhilarating ride.
We were met by a friendly lady who furnished us with coats and life-jackets and when the RIB came in the skipper introduced himself and we all had a bit of good humoured banter which set the scene. The trip up to Tower Bridge was made with a running and humorous commentary by our guide Craig (the skipper was Dave) and we discovered several things about the places passed that were both new to us and informative. After creeping passed the Police Pier at Wapping the hammer went down and with James Bond music blasting in our ears the boat surged forward with incredible acceleration and Dave started throwing the boat about from side to side in power slides....absolutely exhilarating (if a bit bumpy) All in all an exciting and stimulating 50 minutes. Breathless and still hanging on to anything that was fixed we cruised back down to the start point at a more leisurely rate to get our breath back!! The two crew guys were absolutely great and really made the day. Thanks
