The service was faultless. Receptionist helful and friendly, waitress obliging and professional. The hotel is beautifully kept, fresh flowers everywhere, immaculate white linen table cloth and knapkins. We had tea served in the peaceful and well-maintained garden, (7.5 acres in all!!!). The English breakfast tea was hot and strong - just how we like it! Choice of finger sandwishes good - the smoked salmon and cream cheese plentifully filled the brown bread, the beef and red onion chutney delectable, the scones freshly made with strawberry jam, (could have been a less sweet jam, would have preferred a conserve), a generous helping of clotted cream and then cakes. We chose the mini-meringues and mini-profiteroles. The carrot cake and other cake didn't appeal - looked too heavy and stodgy after sandwiches and scones. Overall, I and my elderly neighbour found the afternoon delightful and agreed that we should make it an annual event! Thank you to the friendly receptionist and waitress.

A delightful outing from start to finish. The venue was easy to find and excellently presented and the staff were superbly helpful. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, with a choice of two sandwich fillings per person, with an excellent selection of cakes and scones which were still warm, served with proper clotted cream. The selection of teas were plentiful and the coffee was extremely smooth tasting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

We were greeted like proper guests, the service was excellent and the food was brilliant both in quantity and quality. The coffee was good and refills offered and well expected. The Waiter went out of his way with another customer talking a joint photo for them on their celebration. Will certainly go again

This was a gift from one of our family and not what we would normally choose to do so we were a little apprehensive - it was really relaxing with no fuss and we simply had a great time.

Take a seat in the warm surroundings of the dining room, or outside overlooking the gardens in fair weather, and tuck into a delicious afternoon tea spread. Enjoy assorted sandwiches, cakes, scones with cream and preserve, pastries and last but definitely not least, a choice of freshly brewed tea or coffee. One of the best Red Letter Days experience we have been on...thanks

Amazing surroundings with great views. Nice garden seating area too. A lovely afternoon tea, like silver service and lovely gentleman waiters, making it a very special event. Finger sandwiches, two scones each with gorgeous strawberry jam and cream, assorted cakes and lots of tea. Highly recommended and well worth a visit to this beautiful hotel in rolling Cotswold countryside.

Very attentive staff, friendly service, great location. Why 4stars not 5? would have been excellent if the sandwiches were a little fresher

Attentive waitress and quiet surroundings. We chose this date hoping the rhododendrons would be in full flower - a miscalculation on our part.

We arrived 15mins early for our afternoon tea but we were shown direct to our table. We were asked if we wanted our coats to be hung up. We enjoyed a cup of tea/coffee whilst waiting for our chosen sandwiches and various cakes. I had asked for a plain scone when I rang to make the booking a note had been made and the plain scone duly arrived. The variety of sandwiches and cakes was really good. We enjoyed every part of the afternoon tea, even I was full at the end. We were asked if we wanted fresh tea/coffee which was very nice. We had a really enjoyable outing and would go again.

Can't fault the afternoon tea at Farrington Lodge. The food was excellent, staff were helpful and courteous, treated us really well and looked after us tremendously. I booked this for our 31st wedding anniversary. It was one of the best anniversaries we had. The hotel was really nice and the surrounding area had a lovely large green lawns.
