Santa's traditional wooden sleigh may have charm, but we think he could do with a slick upgrade this Christmas.

But what would his new sleigh look like in 2018? We've reimagined Santa's yuletide chariot through the eyes of five iconic brands, using their individual style, art direction, and business character as inspiration.

IKEA

Slädtur

IKEA's version of Santa's sleigh is likely to have clean lines, be quietly stylish, and come in a box. Complete with a hex key and set of simple instructions, it's a flat-packed Scandi-style delight that Santa (or his elves) can assemble with ease. Featuring spacious compartments to store gifts and other essentials, the Slädtur would use a mixture of pine and primary colours - and have Daim Cake in the glovebox for Rudolph.

Ferrari

F1 SLGH18

The Ferrari F1 SLGH18 is a supercharged present delivering system with 950 reindeer-power. This high-powered sleigh enables Santa to reach 100mph in just 2.5 seconds and comes with sharp aerodynamic curves allowing for a soft landing. Santa was spotted practising his high-speed manoeuvres on a Ferrari track day during his summer holidays, and the super-charged F1 SLGH18 will ensure he can get around the world in record time!

Carlsberg

Probably the best sleigh in the world

Boasting appropriately-festive green paint, a state-of-the-art sound system to pump out the Now Christmas album, outdoor heaters and ample room for Santa's Little Helpers to kick back and chill, Carlsberg's mobile man cave is probably the best sleigh in the world. As Carlsberg never does things by half, Rudolph would be replaced by a lightning-fast unicorn that does most of the work, and the sleigh would naturally contain a lifetime supply of beer (non-alcoholic, probably).

Red Bull

Because reindeer don't have wings

Who needs a sleigh or even reindeer when you've got wings? Red Bull's take on the classic sleigh would be unique in design and propel Santa through the sky at break-neck speed. Able to travel with ease across snow, water, or desert terrains, Santa can indulge his adventurous streak with a detour across the Alps, the Atlantic Ocean, or even the Sahara Desert. Fuelled purely by sugar, caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins, it's also a surprisingly environmentally sound option - the only footprint Santa leaves behind will be in the snow.

Apple

iSleigh

Apple's take on Santa's sleigh would naturally be sleek, minimalist, and loaded with cutting-edge technology and special features. The touch-screen dashboard would give Santa instant access to his favourite apps, including Google Maps, BBC Weather, Elfstagram, and of course, Uber - just in case he has one too many sherries. Let's just hope the battery holds out until he's returned safely back to the North Pole...
