This excellent riding break situated on the edge of the New Forest is the perfect way to spend a couple of days exploring beautiful woodland on the back of a trusty steed. Ideal for beginners and more experienced riders, arrive on the morning of the stay for either a 45 minute private riding lesson or a 90 minute ride through the scenic forest (either western saddle or traditional saddle). In the afternoon, check in to Bashley House and stay in a double room with en suite facilities. Enjoy a continental breakfast the following morning in preparation for a two hour ride through the forest. There are plenty of places to eat locally and sights to see, including herds of deer in the peaceful woodlands.
Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays between March and November, excluding August and bank holiday weeks.
Min age 12, one participant must be over 18. Max weight 15 st, min height 5'. Unsuitable for pregnant women or those with visual/hearing impairments. Epileptics need a medical declaration signed by a doctor. Declare other disabilities prior to booking.
Rides take place in all weather.
Stay for one night, with riding activities on the mornings of both days. Check in from 4pm and check out by 10am on the second day (prior to the ride).
Numbers on the Day
The horse rides consist of up to eight other riders.
Dress for the weather. Bring a long-sleeved top and wear long trousers and sturdy boots or shoes with a small heel (no trainers or flat shoes). If you have a riding hat please bring it along; if not, one will be provided.
All western trails are mixed ability and are conducted at a gentle pace, walk and trot only. Complete beginners welcome. Sorry, but cameras can't be taken on the rides.
