This fantastic outdoor circuit is where a lot of top Formula 1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, first got into racing before being lured away by big bucks. Get behind the wheel of a RT8 390cc kart, which reaches speeds of up to 70 mph (and believe us, that will feel twice as fast in a kart). Start off with a safety briefing, followed by ten minutes of practice laps to get used to the karts and the full outdoor international circuit. Then drive against the other participants in a thirty minute endurance race that is ideal for novices and experts alike. Every driver receives printed lap times and there is a trophy presentation for the top three drivers. Do you have the competitive edge to cross the finish line first?
One event is held every month, generally on a Monday evening but alternatively (and very occasionally) on a Sunday evening.
Minimum age is 16. Drivers don't need a driving licence or any driving experience. Minimum height is 5', maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight 18 stone.
Racing might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) which would make driving at high speed dangerous. Contact will be made if the experience is cancelled. Unused laps will be credited for another visit.
The event lasts for two to three hours, with 40 minutes driving time (including practice). Safety rules dictate that missing any of the initial briefing means not being able to take part so please don't be late.
Numbers on the Day
Up to 35 drivers take part.
Spectators are welcome. The venue has state-of-the-art clubhouse facilities serving hot and cold food and it also offers excellent viewing areas.
Wear trainers or similar flat shoes. A clean helmet, balaclava, competition-style race suit, gloves and rib protectors will be provided.
To participate, do not drink any alcohol for a minimum of 12 hours before the experience. After the event has finished, feel free to relax in the on-site bar.
