Learn the basic principles of carriage driving and go out with a multiple formation of ponies on a drive out. After a safety briefing, meet resident characters at the stables (ponies, horses, driving cows and sheep, donkeys and other livestock) on a tour of the driving centre. Learn basic carriage driving techniques from a trainer and, using your new skills, negotiate a purpose-built obstacle course. Then the experienced demo team show just how much fun carriage driving can be as you take backstep on a carriage pulled by a multiple formation of ponies, either indoors or out in the pretty countryside. Hold on tight as you race around corners and obstacles at speed! Your session ends with refreshments and a rosette to take home.

I absolutely loved Chariots of Fire.
The stables are set in beautiful countryside and are a treasure trove of stunning horses, ponies and animals galore that all beam contentment.
The staff and livery clients were all so genuinely warm and welcoming, it was like coming home.
The carriage driving tuition itself was second to none. John, my instructor had me performing manouvers from the very start and I was whizzing round obstacle courses in no time. Then he showed me just how fast the pony could really go before we had a change of ponies and carriage and headed out on the trail. I loved the whole experience.
I cannot recommend this experience enough. Whether you already have a love of horses or not, this is an incredible activity made all the more wonderful by the friendly and professional approach at Chariots of Fire.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and I will definitely do it again, but next time when the weather is warmer.
