Devised by the revered chef Michel Roux Jr and taught by one of his in-house chefs, this half day knife skills class covers a host of essential techniques. Arrive at Michel Roux Jr's Cookery School for tea, coffee and pastries while the experienced in-house chef talks about the content of the class. Concentrating on two vital knives - a cook's knife and a paring knife, learn how to sharpen and practise a range of essential skills. Make and bake herb and cheese scones, using chopped herbs from the class and learn how to chop a mirepoix base to take home. After the class, enjoy a light lunch, or cream tea with Prosecco (served with afternoon class) and take home an apron, a tote bag and a knife skills booklet.
At least one Friday date per month, plus occasional Saturdays throughout the year.
Minimum age is 16. Unfortunately, the cookery school does not have wheelchair access.
Fri morning classes start at 9.15am and finish at 1.30pm and Friday afternoon classes start at 2.15pm and finish at 6.30pm. Sat classes start at 1pm and finish at 5.15pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
