Perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike, visit a family-run, charitable equestrian centre in the gorgeous East Sussex countryside for half a day of horse riding. With a team of beautiful horses, start with a tour of the stables, learning about the different horses the centre has rescued and their stories. Groom and tack up a horse under expert guidance and then, depending on ability, take a one hour English riding style lesson or hack. At the end of the hour, untack and groom off. This is the perfect experience for any horse lover that wants to get up close to these magnificent creatures.
Tuesday - Friday all year round, excluding the Christmas and New Year period.
Minimum age five. Maximum weight is 14 stone. Suitable for total beginners with no riding experience. Pregnant women cannot to take part.
Lasts for three hours, with riding time around an hour.
Numbers on the Day
Groups contain a maximum of five participants, with an instructor present at all times.
Spectators are not encouraged due to health and safety issues, but the stables has a comfortable clubroom for family and friends to wait in.
Wear comfortable clothes (e.g. leggings, jodhpurs or track suit bottoms) with wellingtons or riding boots. Jeans, trainers and lace-up shoes are not recommended. Wear your own hat (if it conforms to safety standards) or the venue can provide one.
All financial proceeds go to registered charity White Horse Stables, a horse rescue centre.
