Bird of Prey Falconry Day in Dorset

Not only does this falconry experience offer a real insight into birds of prey and a chance handle real life hawks, it's also an opportunity to explore one of the most stunning areas of the country. Begin by meeting a falconry expert for an introductory talk and a tour of the centre, with a chance to meet some of the centre's resident birds. Then, learn a host of basic falconry techniques before sitting down to a well-earned lunch. The afternoon is spent putting newfound bird handling skills to the test by flying Harris hawks to the glove, while watching them elegantly soar through the sky - unforgettable!

Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding the Chirstmas and New Year period.
- Participant Guidelines
Minimum age is 14 (children under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult). Reasonable fitness is required as the day involves a fair amount of walking, often over uneven ground.
Please call the venue for a weather check the day before setting out. If the experience is cancelled because of bad weather it can be re-booked for an alternative date.
Lasts around five hours, including time for lunch and refreshments.

- Dress Code
Dress for the outdoors with wellies or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is very bad, as most of the day is spent outside. A camera or a pair of binoculars are recommended.
