A day handling eagles and witness their rare flight
Meet resident birds of prey with a tour of the centre
Receive expert personal instruction on handling the birds
Go out with the instructor and fly an eagle to your glove
An eagle in flight is incredibly beautiful - but since eagles' natural habitats tend to be so remote, it's also very rare. Start off with a guided tour of the bird of prey centre and learn fascinating facts about the various eagles in residence. Gain an insight into how these powerful birds are trained and get professional one-to-one tuition on how to handle an eagle. After lunch, head out into the country with a qualified instructor and fly an eagle to the glove - watch these magnificent creatures in full flight and witness their majesty first-hand.
Approximately once a month, both weekdays and weekends. Dates fill up quickly, so book at least four weeks in advance, or even earlier for summer weekend dates.
Minimum age is 16. You need to be reasonably fit as the day involves a fair amount of walking. Both novices and those with some experience of birds of prey are welcome, as the day is designed around your level of experience.
Cancellation will only occur in extreme weather conditions and in that event, would be re-booked for an alternative date. If in doubt please call the venue to confirm.
Your experience will last between six and seven hours.
Numbers on the Day
The experience is held on a one-to-one basis.
One spectator is welcome for a fee of £25, including entry, lunch and refreshments. This is payable on the day and must be booked at least one week in advance of the booking by calling the venue direct.
Dress for the outdoors, with wellingtons or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is particularly bad.
Why not bring along a camera and/or a pair of binoculars if you have them? And it would be a shame not to catch one of the flying displays that take place throughout the day.
