Looking for a flying experience with a difference? Soar over Stonehenge in a genuine 1930's vintage Tiger Moth and look down upon four thousand years of ancient history. Experience the rush from the open cockpit while marvelling at the lines of barrows and burial mounds that surround Stonehenge, most of which can't be seen from the ground. Begin at Sarum Airfield with a pre-flight briefing before taking off and circling this sensational World Heritage site from the sky. Stonehenge is steeped in folklore and mystery, and seeing the stones from the unique position of a Tiger Moth cockpit is certainly magical.
Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period.
Minimum age is 16. Minimum height is 3'2'' and maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight is 16 stone. This experience is unsuitable for pregnant women and anyone suffering from epilepsy or back problems.
Flying is weather dependent and it is crucial to call the venue on the day. The Tiger Moth is a vintage open-cockpit plane and certain weather conditions may result in the flight being rescheduled.
Lasts around one hour including a briefing and 20 minute flight.
Numbers on the Day
Briefings may be shared, but the flight is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor.
Spectators are welcome and the venue is equipped with toilet facilities and disabled access. Safety dictates that pets are not permitted at any airfield.
Wrap up warm, wear soft-soled shoes, bring sunglasses and tie back long hair. All specialist equipment is provided.
