Feel the thrill of soaring through the sky in the open cockpit of a genuine 1930's Tiger Moth while flying over the bombing range at Ashley Walk, the very site where the famous 617 Dambusters Squadron practised their skills before bombing the Tirpitz and the U-boat pens. Soak in historic sights which are simply breathtaking from the air, including colossal Tallboy craters, historic Old Sarum Airfield and the Dambusters' range in the New Forest. This an exhilarating way to observe military history and the unique sights you see from the air will live long in the memory.
Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period.
Minimum age is 16. Minimum height is 3'2'' and maximum height is 6'4''. Maximum weight is 16 stone. This experience is unsuitable for pregnant women and anyone suffering from epilepsy or back problems.
Flying is weather dependent and it is crucial to call the venue on the day. The Tiger Moth is a vintage open-cockpit plane and certain weather conditions may result in the flight being rescheduled.
Lasts around two hours including a briefing and your one hour flight.
Numbers on the Day
Briefings may be shared, but the flight is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor.
Spectators are welcome and the venue is equipped with toilet facilities and disabled access. Safety dictates that pets are not permitted at any airfield.
Wrap up warm, wear soft-soled shoes, bring sunglasses and tie back long hair. All specialist equipment is provided.
