A day of surfing at Cornwall's stunning Harlyn Bay
A whole day of to learn the basic skills and perfect them
All specialist kit supplied - smiles and high spirts required
A great way to start for surfing beginners and those wishing to improve their skills. An experienced instructor teaches essential techniques including board control, moving and turning in the water and how to choose the best waves and stand up, as well as explaining the rules of the waves (and as the beach is patrolled by lifeguards from April until the end of September, you're in safe hands). This fun and adventurous experience takes place in Cornish Harlyn Bay, an idyllic surfing spot just five miles from Padstow, the perfect place to perfect those surfing skills. After the lesson, feel free to carry on surfing and put those newfound skills into practise.
Seven days a week from May until the end of October.
Minimum age is 10 but under 16's must bring a parent/guardian as a spectator. Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres unaided and will be asked to sign a fitness declaration.
The weather should not affect this experience, however, if instructors deem that conditions are unsuitable, a voucher is given to redeem at your convenience.
The morning lesson lasts for around two hours. Please arrive at 9.30am to meet the instructors beforehand. There is a break for lunch, then spend the afternoon putting new skills to use (finish around 4.30pm).
Numbers on the Day
Numbers on the day vary but groups are split, with a maximum of ten people per instructor.
Spectators are welcome to watch from the beach.
Bring a swimming costume, towel, waterproof sunblock, sunglasses and clothing suitable for the weather on the day. All surfing equipment is supplied.
Lunch is not included but there is a good pub and a burger van nearby.
