Overview
Experience the ultimate buzz with this unique glimpse into the world of urban beekeeping and the chance to sample some award-winning beer from Hiver Beers. Start your experience with a quick introduction to urban beekeeping, before suiting up in protective clothing and boots, ready to get stuck in. Join the Hivers beekeeper for a hive inspection and lend a helping hand in handling the frames and checking the health of the hive. Afterwards, head back inside and relax, while enjoying a tutored honey beer and food matching session with an expert. Boasting a deliciously smooth texture, Hiver Beers have the potential to convert even the most infrequent beer drinkers!

This experience is available most weekends from mid-April until mid-September, subject to availability. - Participant Guidelines
Guests over 18 are welcome. Beer contains gluten so the tasting is not suitable for coeliac. There is a small risk of getting stung during the hive inspection, but whilst this is very rare, we do not recommend the experience if you are allergic to bees. - Weather
In the case of really wet or cold weather, we'll focus on inspecting the exhibition hive, working with the Beekeeping tools to build frames and working with the bi-products of the hive. - Duration
This experience lasts two hours. - Numbers on the Day
Join a group of up to 12 participants. - Dress Code
The venue will provide a beekeeping suit (including face protection) along with gloves on the day, but please wear sensible flat shoes and bring socks. Feet should be fully covered.
