Compete in authentic 2000cc single-seater Formula 2 stockcars. After a briefing, warm up with five practice laps, then it's competition time, driving in two race heats of the Stockcar Championship, eight laps per heat. Try Professionals Challenge (in fully race prepared off road Sierra bangers), the Del-Boy Challenge (in Reliant Robins), Push-Me-Pull-You Car (Strictly Come Dancing on four wheels) and the Nag Drag Challenge (driving blindfolded, following instructions from a co-driver). Even see a film on how the real pros race. The excitement builds as drivers' battle it out in the championship finals, with trophies for the winners (and certificates for all). Live PA commentary, race marshals and fans cheering. Lunch and refreshments included.
Weekend dates approximately once a month from March to December.
Minimum age is 17 and maximum weight 20 stone. Minimum height is 4'11'', maximum is 6'5''. You'll need to be an experienced driver, but you don't need a driving licence. Anyone with a back or neck injury should not take part.
Driving might be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions, when driving at speed might become dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt.
Your experience lasts for around six hours. Please arrive a few minutes early for refreshments and to ensure a prompt start. Please allow for extra time at the end in case the experience runs over.
Numbers on the Day
There will be around 40 people taking part. More cars will be provided if necessary to ensure your driving time remains the same.
Spectators are welcome. The fee is £10 adult/£5 child, payable on the day, which includes a programme, simple lunch and tea/coffee. Please note that some of the spectator facilities aren't covered.
Dress warmly and comfortably. Wear flat-soled shoes and bring waterproofs if it's wet. Any special equipment you need will be provided.
Northampton International Raceway is a Stockcar World Championship venue and hosts some of the biggest oval motorsports events of the year. The venue has disabled lavatories and good wheelchair access viewing areas.
