Learn how to control your vehicle with a skid control driving experience at Silverstone - the spiritual home of British Motorsport. Controlling a skid can be very useful in bad weather conditions and this experience gives you all the necessary advice and information to combat inclement weather on the highways. Following a short safety briefing, you will venture to the skidpan area for a skid car session based on a hydraulic skid frame built specially for the purpose. Experience the feeling of loss of car control on ice and water under controlled conditions. Learn how to react quickly and efficiently in future on the roads with expert help! End the session with a debrief from the instructor.

    Only at weekends, all year round.
  • Participant Guidelines
    Minimum height is 5'2'', maximum is 6'7''. Maximum weight is 18 stone and maximum age 70. You MUST produce a full, current manual driving licence on the day.
  • Weather
    The weather should not affect this experience, but any cancellations are for your own safety. Please call the venue before you leave if in any doubt.
  • Duration
    Your experience will last for up to two hours, including briefing and the skidpan session. Please arrive 30 - 40 minutes prior to the start time to attend the essential safety briefing.
  • Numbers on the Day
    You'll share your car with up to two other participants and your instructor. You can choose to ride along in the car when not driving, to learn from the other two drivers.
  • Dress Code
    Wear trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and slim, flat-soled shoes comfortable for driving. Please avoid nylon clothing.
