  • About

Driving an Formula 1-style single-seater racing car is unlike anything else. You're strapped into the open cockpit with your legs stretched out into the nose of the car, the steering wheel in front of you and the gearstick between your legs. You're only a couple of inches off the ground and you'll know it; you can feel every bump and quake, fighting not to oversteer, as your super-responsive car reacts to every tiny adjustment you make. Your experience starts with a briefing before you warm up with three laps in a Seat Ibiza Cupra. This is followed by two demonstration laps in a Seat Leon before strapping into a Honda Blackbird single-seater, driving solo for seven laps. There's a trophy for the day's best driver and everyone receives a certificate.

The day was everything I could have expected and the staff were friendly and helpful, both on site and on the phone.

From the moment I arrived at the race track the staff were friendly and well organised. When it got to the driving of the cars - in my case the Seat Leon Cupra and the single seater - there are no words for the handling and the speed that I experienced while on the track. For anyone thinking of doing this experience I would thoroughly recommend it.

Having just completed my experience at Knockhill Racing Circuit, I would like to pay tribute to both the Red Letter Days staff who made the booking process simple and a pleasure, and also the track staff, everyone from sign-in to the instructors were first class and showed true professionalism in the way they carry out their respective jobs. I cannot thank them enough, the tuition was world class, and the experience was something I will remember for a long time, thanks again!!
