High-octane thrills aboard the Thames Rocket
Here is an excellent way for two people to see the Thames from a new perspective and take in some of the great sights of our capital city from the river. Jump aboard this small, light and high-speed powerboat, otherwise known as a Thames Rocket (which stands for rigid inflatable boat) and get ready for some fast fun. There is always a safety briefing to start with before being kitted out with the kind of gear needed for this waterborne experience. Then it's all systems go as the skipper takes you up and down the river, pointing out areas of interest and telling stories (he knows the river really well and has lots of interesting snippets to share) so sit back and hold on!
Runs from 2 January 2017: Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from January to February and Monday to Friday from March to end April. All bank holidays are excluded. MUST be booked and taken by 28 April 2017.
Under 14's must be accompanied by a participating adult. If you have ever suffered a serious back, neck or knee injury, we recommend that you seek medical advice before booking. Wheelchair users welcome but pregnant women can't participate.
The weather shouldn't affect this experience as trips go ahead in virtually all conditions, but please do call the venue on the morning of your experience if in any doubt.
Lasts up to one hour and 15 minutes, including your briefing, kit issue and around 50 minutes on the water. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the booked time. In season runs daily, on the hour between 10am and 6pm. After October, at weekends only.
