During the flight (under the instructor's guidance), take over the reins to become honorary pilot and experience the true exhilaration of flying first-hand. A one day club membership is included and this flight can count towards a microlight Private Pilot's Licence.

  • Can contribute towards flying time for a Private Pilot's Licence for microlights
Key Info
  • Availability Description
Selected weekend dates. The venue is closed on Christmas Day. Dates fill up quickly, so book at least three weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekend dates.
  • Participant Guidelines
Maximum fully-clothed weight is 16 stone. There is no minimum age but under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who'll be required to sign a disclaimer. Women in either the first or the last three months of pregancy can't fly.
  • Weather
Flying is weather dependent. It is essential that call you the venue after 8.30am on the morning of your experience for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for another date or time.
  • Duration
The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes, but please allow for longer at the venue.
  • Numbers on the Day
Your briefing might be shared, but your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified microlight flight instructor.
  • Dress Code
Most microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. Wear sensible shoes (no heels) and gloves. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
  • Other Info
Your flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot's Licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
