Take an opulent steam hauled train ride on the Belmond British Pullman, an iconic train decorated with art deco glamour and staffed by top quality liveried stewards. Leaving from London Victoria, choose to travel to either historic Bath to visit the Roman Baths or to beautiful Bristol to see Brunel's SS Great Britain. Board the train and enjoy brunch and Bellini on the outward journey and take a walking tour on arrival, followed by some time to explore your chosen destination. After having worked up an appetite, for the journey back, sit back and relax while gliding through the English countryside and feast on a delicious four-course meal with champagne and half a bottle of wine.
2016 dates are as follows: Wednesday 11 May and Wednesday 7 September. Please book early to avoid disappointment; all booking is subject to limited running dates and availability.
Minimum age 16. If a vegetarian meal is required, please advise at point of booking. Smoking is not permitted on board. Only folding wheelchairs can be stored on board and some mobility is required on the train and the excursion.
The weather should not affect the experience, however please note that the train runs on the public rail network and is subject to any imposed delays (although this is one train that no-one minds being delayed on).
Trips last around 11 hours, depending on choice of train and location. Receive tickets, confirmation of departure times and a full itinerary by post shortly before the departure date.
Numbers on the Day
Up to 26 passengers share the carriage. Most tables are for two, but the train also has tables for one, three and four. All seating is allocated subject to availability on the day by the supplier and cannot be guaranteed.
Smart/casual wear (no jeans or trainers). Please remember that for part of the excursion guests are outdoors.
Please note that very occasionally, the steam engine may be substituted with diesel or electric traction in case of mechanical breakdown, engineering works or for reasons of fire risk in very dry weather.
