Jump aboard a dual-controlled two-seated Piper training plane with a fully qualified instructor at the airfield in West Sussex, following a briefing on safety and flying methods on the ground. Then it's time to head skyward for a 30 minute flight during which time (at the pilot's discretion) the controls may be handed to over to take the reins for a portion of the session. The views are outstanding and the sensation of being aboard such an aircraft is unique.
Seven days a week throughout the year, excluding Christmas. Weekends can get very busy so we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance.
Minimum age is 16. Maximum weight is 15 stone. Maximum height is 6'3''.
Flying is a weather dependent activity and it's essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is cancelled because of weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time.
Lasts around 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration.
Numbers on the Day
The briefing might be shared. The flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor.
Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing.
Wear flat-soled shoes. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot's Licence. To qualify for a PPL 35 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying is required.
