For amateur fish cooks looking to brush up on their skills, there's no better place to learn than TV's famous River Cottage HQ. The culinary haven of beloved foodie Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, this stunning farm provides the venue for a cookery experience unlike any other. Take a tractor to the farmhouse and meet the tutor over tea, coffee and tasty treats, before getting stuck in. Take part in a host of practical sessions and demonstrations and, as well as learning everything you need to know about fish cookery from filleting mackerel, hot smoking, preparing shellfish and get to grips with River Cottage's ethos on sustainable fishing. Finish in style by preparing a delicious three-course supper and sitting down as a group to enjoy it.
At least twice a month throughout the year (could be any day of the week).
Minimum age is 12 (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over). There are disabled facilities but this working farm has some difficult to negotiate areas (please check when booking).
The cookery course starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm. Arrive by 9.20am in time to take a tractor down to the farm.
