Champagne Afternoon Tea for Two at Polurrian Bay

When arriving at the hotel the staff, were very welcoming and we were seated very quickly. The waiter was helpful in taking the order and noted the dietary requirements. When the Tea arrived it was well presented. All the afternoon was went well and it was a very pleasant experience. We would use the Hotel again . AND Red Letter Days .

Wonderful location but there was absolutely no mention of the word Champagne. We were asked whether we would like sweet or savoury and chose the latter which was fine but it would appear from the image above that it could have been a combination of both. It was quite busy but it seemed to take an age before we were served....15 minutes before the pots of tea were brought and another 15 minutes before the cake stand arrived. We were ushered to a table that hadn't been cleared. It would have been better to have waited in the foyer until a table was available. We are not complaining as such but are being honest in our opinion so that it may help to provide a better experience for others. It was a Christmas gift from our family from 2020 which we had had to re-book several times due to the restrictions of the pandemic so had waited for some considerable time. We are not seasoned campaigners at this sort of thing so didn't know quite what to expect but had been looking forward to the occasion and were left feeling somewhat disappointed.

A lovely afternoon in a gorgeous setting, large lounge area with uninterrupted views across Polurrian Bay. The food was delicious, plenty of it and well presented and served.
